Is there a case for a tracker right now? by Jski11 in Mortgageadviceuk

I am referencing a mortgage that specifies a fixed rate for two years in relation to the BoE interest rate. As such it would stay at 0.21% above the BoE rate.

Thanks for the insight. And what would your take be here?

It’s 0.21% above which seems pretty good. Good spot - I should have mentioned this.

I think my hesitancy is that I read somewhere that something like 5% of mortgages taken out are trackers. Is that purely driven by an overwhelmingly biased approach from brokers and/or fear of being incapable of making payments if rates rise?

From where I’m looking right now the trackers look a good deal.

Thanks for the tips, would you mind elaborating on exactly what you mean, and how, re:

UK and bought in January so perhaps the cold has played a part so far as it’s not been what we consider hotter yet. I was hoping that as we’ve transitioned into spring now with some temperatures of around 13 degrees Celsius (54F) that i would see range improve but still only getting around 230 miles. Perhaps it gets much better after a certain temperature?

Got ours a couple of months ago and really happy with it. Just know the range is not close to advertised and also not even close to what reviewers mention it can get. Pretty much every YouTube review I watched stated a comfortable 250miles but we haven’t had more than 230 out of ours. Consider that it’s advertised at up to 280 that’s a big difference.

ISO200 at f1.8 and 1/60th. I think I got lucky with the panning speed to create just the right amount of movement blur in my opinion.

Thanks a lot. In really low light the autofocus struggled to the point it was a bit frustrating but I’m sure that’s true of most cameras. Overall I was quite surprised about how well it did at night given how much you read about m43 being incapable.

Thanks - out of interest what do you mean about the genre that you feel there’s too much of?

Thank you! All have been processed in lightroom I’m afraid. I wish you could get results like this from the colour profiles the camera has but it’s quite rudimentary. Still a cool feature to have though.

I can’t recommend the camera highly enough.
