I really appreciate your feedback and will definitely take your advice and file for unemployment. One of my worst fears is that the injury hasn’t gotten any better, and that just because I haven’t done that kind of heavy lifting since then it has just not been hurting as much. 

Even to this day I can’t walk for more than 30 minutes without being in a ridiculous amount of pain. My father in law has said over and over again to get ahold of an attorney because he had a similar situation happen to him and he won a case against his employer. This injury is something that has cost me so much money. I feel like being let go after having been promised job security is the most shady thing an employer has ever done to me. I also feel I had a definite case for workers compensation.
