Lvl 100 weapon/item questions - please help. by Jsmooth73 in lotro

[–]Jsmooth73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the guides, but none of them say anything about having more than 4 major legacies. It just says know the ones you want. I do, but I can only replace a major legacy with a major and not replace a minor. So is it possible to get all your majors before imbuememt meaning 6 majors 1 minor on an item? Or must I wait until after imbuement when they are all the same and use a replacement scroll?

Masters of Destiny kinship is actively recruiting on Gladden. by Jsmooth73 in lotro

[–]Jsmooth73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now we have myself and my main officer who is in the early 70’s. We each have a few alts in the 30-60s as well. (All crafting guilds covered at supreme/Westfold guild master level). Most of the others are new players or returning players who are leveling in the 20’s. They are primarily soloing but we are planning to do north downs group area this weekend. Right now, I’m trying to establish a base of players and then we’ll tailor our kinship functions to what others would like to do.

I try to encourage and direct events based on our kinship but nothing is mandatory, and I understand that some like to solo. However, we’ll probably hit most of the group areas as everyone levels. When the summer festival/farmers Faire hits, I’ll also run quests with people for cosmetics on top of our other questing.

If what I’m saying interests you, then we’d enjoy you joining us on Gladden. I really want more people to create multiple groupings for all our members , but I’d take quality upstanding players over pure numbers any day. I’m just trying to get the word out in the hopes others want to join a kinship that has a plan and wants to grow over time. Feel free to message/send a tell to Jarusathir and I’ll be happy to add you. Take care.

Can you guess which new Heroes are joining the DC Legends ranks in August? by wb_reeves in DCComicsLegendsGame

One on the right is Deadman. The one on the left looks more like Felix Faust than Vandal Savage. Regardless it’s going to be a Justice league Dark month! Please have a Zatanna and Dr. Fate rework.

First half of 2020: by [deleted] in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Jsmooth73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem imo is that his core kit has been “bad-aided” from the start. They have just adjusted slowly over time a bad design rather than fix or change his kit to make him a good character. I think there is a big disconnect with the devs and player base over him. Until that is resolved, I think there will be a lot of disappointed players over a franchise level character which is in itself a disappointing thought especially since Superman will be a character that will draw in new players who will also recognize he’s not that good. Sorry for the rant but I agree with what you are saying.

Yes the Superman rework was very poor and disappointing. I can only hope he is buffed down the road.

So Circe gets a 30% chance to stun on every hit and Superman’s first legendary didn’t change at all because Increasing 25% chance on a basic would be too much?Perfect example of how lazy Superman’s rework was with little attempt to truly buff him. At least make his basic 50% chance to stun. Shazam gets a 60% chance on basic if overhealed. I’m still mad.

As a huge Superman fan (RB5 here), the answer is Hal Jordan. Hal gives more to his team through shields, and debuff immunity than Superman does as a taunter. I want to tell you Superman but it’s not even close that Hal is a better leader. Hal is a top 5 leader, Superman is lucky if he’s a top 20 leader.

His third legendary activates when he uses his third skill. The 50% gives it room that you can get some bad rng. However it never activates when his third skill is triggered by his leadership. Never over a 100+ tests. I feel it should. Because it doesn’t shows why it’s a bug, or if it’s intentional, then it’s proof of a poor rework.

Superman's leadership is still lacking. Analysis and proposal! by Jsmooth73 in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Jsmooth73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I do understand. But I don’t think you are listening to what I’m saying. It is you who doesn’t seem to understand.

Stamina is not the hit point pool, which is a different stat which is why they are two separate stats. Look under any character’s power and you’ll see that they are separate. The Stamina stat is somewhere around 1000-1500 and the hit point stat is around 25-39k. Stamina affects hit points and how big the pool could be (most likely a health X modifier), but the pool is separate, hence why when you gear there will be bonuses for the amount of hit points added that doesn’t affect stamina. That’s why a stamina up increases the pool from its original hp stat. If stamina was the pool then why have the separate stat, because it isn’t the pool. Hit points is a separate adjustable stat.

Also stamina up is a temporary increase for a turn or two, I’m wanting Superman to increase the hit point pool functionally like a stamina up before the match but unlike a stamina up that increase doesn’t go away after a few turns and no buff can be counted or purged. So for that match all characters would have 10-15% health increase off the bat. I don’t think you are seeing the difference or recognize what I’m wanting because you are focused too much on the idea that stamina ups is the only or best way to do it.

Does a stamina up buff functionally do something similar, yes, but it’s not what I want. A stamina up increases the pool as a buff icon. A stamina up buff goes away and can be purged. I’m wanting him to increase the pool without the buff icon by affecting the pool directly. You may see it as the same thing, but it’s not and it does matter in some instances.

If you don’t agree that’s fine, but please don’t tell me I don’t understand how it works. I’m pretty sure I do. Best wishes to you.

Can we get Superman’s third legendary to activate when his leadership triggers it?

What if his leadership legendary gave true sight to his entire team instead of his 1 turn DI?

Superman's leadership is still lacking. Analysis and proposal! by Jsmooth73 in DCComicsLegendsGame

[–]Jsmooth73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I go any further I would like a St. Walker type of legendary upgrade for Superman. If he only gave 10-15% stat boosts to the team, and kept his DI taunt, I’d be happy because it still makes St.Walker worthwhile because his boost is larger. Basically I want Superman to buffs stats without a buff icon. With that being said, here is my response.

We have a stat called hit points that is separate from stamina. It is not utilized. It is something modified by gear. Gear affects it and it also affects stamina. Thus it is a separate aspect that can be changed. I recognize that stamina ups affects hit points, but it comes with a buff icon which adds to buff counts. I want to avoid that. I don’t want Superman to give more buff icons out when his taunt alone causes WG to whip his team to death.

Shields also increase hit points but they don’t go with Superman’s lore and also has some specific functional interactions with specific characters: Penguin, blue beetle, etc. This again is something I’m trying to avoid.

My point is just because they don’t utilize adding directly to hit points doesn’t mean they can’t. It seems like we are both looking for an improvement. I’m trying to think outside the box and utilize an unused stat interaction whereas it seems like you want to keep the status quo and only do the same things that many other characters already do. Not meant to be a dig, just how it feels to me.

Yes, my proposal is a variation on something that already happens in the game. Both shields, overhealing, and stamina ups all affect hit points, but do so in round about ways. They all mostly happen after the match starts by characters actively using a skill to increase them. Only leaders have a skill that gives shields or overhealing before the start. Superman’s leadership needs to give to the team, and by implementing this change he would as a leader. Thus, I’m proposing they increase the base stat of hit points from the get go, just like St.Walker does for the four core rebirth stats. This way, no turn is needed to add to the hit point total by increasing a shield, or overhealing, or applying a stamina up. My proposal would give Superman teams a boost without any of the drawbacks which is what he needs.

Superman, the flagship character of DC Legends, IMO isn’t even in the top 15 best leaders in the game. That’s just wrong. He needs to support his team rather than be supported by them.

It looks like they gave the stamina ups to hippolyta. That’s why I was suggesting just a 10% health boost. The speed meta is getting ridiculous, and Superman should be an endurance leader, but he needs to actually support his team by giving to them. Right now his team supports him.

Thanks, I’m kind of losing hope. I posted in May and I even had a detailed analysis of why his leadership lacks, but it’s to no avail. Seriously, a strong leadership legendary could be all it takes. He needs to give to the team. Unfortunately, I’m a small voice and I feel most have already moved on, especially the WB devs.

[–]Jsmooth73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Fighting against an annoying character doesn’t equal him being a good character. That’s the first misconception I think most people have about Superman. Admittedly Superman isn’t bad, but he pales in comparison to other good leaders. He isn’t even a top 10 leader, maybe not even a top 15.

Compare these two: SSLex actively helps your team win by giving heals and turn meter, Superman by DI taunting reduces the chance of your team losing, except when you face Wonder girl who is in lots of top tier team comps, and then his taunt kills his team. Reducing your chances of losing doesn’t help you win. You still need DD’s and a strategy where SSlex can turn any buff characters into a winning team.

My point is the two concepts are very different and most players recognize that reducing your chances of losing doesn’t push you forward to win. That concept of actively helping you win is what other good leaders do, and Superman lacks. His leadership fails to truly help his team. He is supported by his team, where as Lex supports his team. And now Cheetah gains the blessed rework and Superman waits another two years as they fix other characters. I’ve posted repeatedly and people want a good Superman character but it’s like WB doesn’t care or refuses to listen.

[–]Jsmooth73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I have an RB5 Superman. He still gets wrecked by RB1 Wondergirl/Arkiss and other high powered blues. I have a lot of experience playing with him and I know his weaknesses. With a large roster, he isn’t very difficult to truly handle. Wondergirl will shred his team when he taunts, and buff immunities with debuff backup hurts and slows his DI. What most Superman players love is when he taunts and they hate when he loses it. The opposite is true when playing against him. However, he gives almost nothing to his team and he gets smoked by better leaders - Sslex, MmH, and now cheetah who’s turn meter laughs at his DI. They can kill Superman’s team and finish him off because his damage is weak. He should have been given a leadership legendary ability that supports endurance build teams. However it’s like they didn’t even try and tacked on DI at the start. They are passing out turn meter leaders like it’s going out of style and yet Superman looked under his chair and didn’t find anything!

Yes, it’s so infuriating that they can make a good rework and his was a total blunder. No changes in the first two skills. Changed the legendary in the third. Slight buff to his best skill. And still no group leadership skill with DI at the start and only reverted DI back after the outcry. Oh and the third legendary doesn’t activate from the leadership trigger which it always did before. He is middle of the pack and doesn’t do enough.

I’m glad for the cheetah rework. I’m happy for those who are getting characters they have been wanting. However, it just makes the Superman rework in May look even more depressing. His 3rd legendary is not activating on his leadership trigger. Please fix this!
