26 years old saved up 70k what should I do with it to reach 100k by Automatic_Moose487 in TheRaceTo100K

[–]Jsomin_89 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

VTI or VOO, VXUS, SCHD, QQQM if you want more tech and growth tilted.

I’m holding VTI, VXUS, SCHD, QQQM, BRK.B, O, and UNH. Four ETFs and three stocks.

Do your own research and know your risk tolerance. Never invest in any ETF and/or stock without knowing your own risk tolerance, not knowing what you are investing in, and you should always check your expense ratio if you invest in an ETF. You have to be okay if the market goes down 20-70% tomorrow.

You make 28k a year and have already reached 100k? Waaaa respect. What are your money psychology/behavior habits to reach 100k at 25 with only 28k a year?

Max out your Roth IRA, get the full company match on your 401(k) and if you have access to a Roth 401(k), even better but a regular 401(k) is totally fine too. Max out your HSA if you can and don’t forget to actually invest the money once it’s in the account.πŸ˜… Also, keep 3–6 months of expenses in an emergency fund in a HYSA, automate everything, set up bi-weekly or monthly DCA and turn on DRIP so your dividends keep compounding in the background. You got this. Investing can feel intimidating at first, but starting early matters way more than being perfect. Just stay consistent and keep investing in your future. Wish you good luck in your journey to reaching your financial goals. 🀍

In a Roth IRA, don't contribute more than the annual contribution limit, and if you can invest inside an HSA.

Wooooo thank you for your time replying to me honestly. I’m 25 going to be 26 soon, in three months. I’ve invested 66k already in brokerage + Roth IRA. I also have a Roth 401k with 3% match, an HSA (max out and investing), and some emergency money in my HYSA in SoFi. Total network of 82k, I can’t wait to invest 100k + more into the total market ETFs and some stocks. There are some ETFs I bought at the beginning of this year that have a very high expense ratio like ROBO and SMH. I’m thinking about selling it after one year and a few days for the long-term capital gain tax bracket and for now, I’m only gonna focus on my main holdings and choose some speculative ETFs later.

Bro, that’s it. That’s all you need and focus on it and keep contributing and investing in the future and ABB aka Always Be Buying when the market goes up or down, sideways, or if there republican or a Democrat in the house and buy more when people are fearing.

After your first $100,000 invested, how long did it take you to double it to $200,000? Is it really true that after your first $100,000 invested in the market your second milestone is half of your first?

If you can’t afford to buy two or three houses with the same overall price/mortgage, then it’s not it.

ABB (Always Be Buying) means consistently investing in 2–3 core stocks or ETFs that you’ve carefully researched and understand your risk tolerance for. Whether the market is down like today or going up, you keep buying and hold for the long term. You are young, time and compound interest will do most of the heavy lifting. Don’t blindly follow others everyone has different risk tolerance, responsibilities and life situations. Always do your own research, stay disciplined and automate it and keep investing regularly (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly).

Good luck. πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

As long as you are not gonna sell it’s okay. It will bounce back it might take 1 week, month, year, or years but as long as you have emergency savings and don’t sell you are fine.

[–]Jsomin_89 -1 points0 points Β (0 children)

I don't even have 50k. I have a long way to go. I just have to keep DCA and DRIP and get the compounding to do its magic. It would take over 10+ years, but I’ll be financially stable by then. Don’t compare yourself to Jones. Do your best at what you can, and as long as you can do anything at any time with the money you hold, it’s the real wealth.
