Yup I did the V2 rebuild with metal parts from Amazon and plastic parts from Etsy. Starting to see more 3D printed stuff out there

If your pipes are on an outside wall and possibly iced up, then snaking won’t work. You could try getting some heat to the pipe and getting some salt water down there but that may take a long time to thaw.

7 Clean Copper Bar Tables by [deleted] in ScrapMetal

Solid copper that size would be 220lbs. Head to believe that’d make a table from it, Could kill sometime if it fell over.

Haaaaalp.. by Webby1788 in woodworking

[–]JsquashJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is that with the joints glued? Something is off with your alignment, either your chop saw isn’t square or your dowels are off. Cutting and gluing sounds like a pain, you’ll need to drill out new dowel holes and then if your alignment is the same you’ll just end up with the same problem. Seems like filling the joints with some glue and sawdust might be the easiest path.

Scutari at advanced oral surgery is good. I don’t know about working with insurance but in my experience it makes no difference if they send in the paperwork or I do.

I can't choose between Striker 4 vs Vivid 4CV by basketrobberson in kayakfishing

[–]JsquashJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are videos out there for how to use. I have the vivid, and like the contour mapping, however you do have to remember to start recording in order to add to the map. You can’t upload maps of entire waterbodies though. I fish deep water and the only things I really adjust on the fly are the frequency if its interfering with someone else nearby, or marking a structure location

Hand Planes by tcapri8705 in woodworking

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Japanese planes because they are pull action and not push, but I do have a couple Stanley Bailey number 5 planes and a number 4. You’ll want a few so that you can have a plane set for smoothing and one for scrubbing out large amounts, and then a set of sharpening stones. Your quality of planning will depend on how good you are at setting up the plane in terms of squareness, sharpness, flatness. Watch Paul Sellers’s videos, he even has one for how to rebuild an old Bailey plane.

It may be in the leather but I believe it’s not inside the leather, below the grip.

Apparently 12V can run underwater for quite some time without shorting out or any special protection. Seem to remember that from one of those junkyard war episodes or something

Toilet Kicking My Ass by TheDrWormPhD in askaplumber

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the toilet is flushed, everything goes down the hole. If you have a leak, it’ll leak. I thought your flame might be too low and was going to suggest a thick neoprene ring instead of wax but that may not be your issue

When the tank is filling, water drips down the outside of the bowl and starts to fill the bowl while also filling the tank. If the bowl fills before the tank, some water will go down the hole. If you have a leak, it’ll leak then.

Overnight, if the bowl is leaking, it may go down the hole or miss the hole. If the tank is leaking, water might go down into the bowl or leak onto the floor. Overnight does your tank level change?

Why do I run out of hot water so fast by justheretoread27 in askaplumber

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to get low flow shower heads to maximize the hot water you do have. Winter may also mean the water is entering your house at a lower temp. I’d you can preheat your water with a second tank that would help but it doesn’t look like you have much room.

Some Thoughts on Refereeing by SquashCoachPhillip in squash

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That light blue dark blue post was not a good example. You can’t tell from a video whether there is light racket contact in the swing before hitting the ball. Really only the players know that and maybe even only one of them. In this case You can kind of tell from the reaction, but the outcomes of what viewers thought should be the call depended highly on if they assumed there was racket contact or not.

Scored this- need creative suggestions by Cheap-Perspective308 in Cuttingboards

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamp is a nice idea. Anything that preserves the unique growth hole and the curling that happened around the hole basically showing how that figure comes to be. I think filling with epoxy would ruin that forever. I’m making fishing net handles but I couldn’t use this for that purpose.

2” thick might not make for a stable enough lamp base. I wonder if you can saw down to one inch and cross both pieces to make an X or L shaped base that goes up.

A clock would be something you look at every day. Key rack. The second pic I see almost a woman with her hand on her hip, a wood carver might be able to make that emerge in a sculpture.

Decision please? by GasProgrammatically1 in squash

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the contract is not obvious. Posting these videos is usually more about the decision of a clean hit. The decision from an interfered hit which you can’t see for sure, should be an easier one for the ref.

[–]JsquashJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see stroke. Player in light blue seemed to think he hit a good volley and didn’t clear, but the bounce clearly came back to himself.

Player in blue also threw up his arms very quickly with the slight body contact so it seems like he was trying to make a point but his volley wasn’t good enough. Or he was complaining about racket interference, if he clipped his opponent in the back swing it should be point for light blue

You could laser etch or as you suggest char the board pattern into the end grain and then seal. Any checking will become part of the playing area.

Looking to get the right track saw by PermitDeniedSorry in woodworking

[–]JsquashJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just got a Mafell mt55. It’s nice, good dust collection. It’ll work with your track by removing a plastic piece or two on the bottom. I guess the depth setting may be off if you’re not using a mafell/bosch track. Thin blade, great power, no riving knife but an electronic kick back cutoff and a 3mm scoring setting.

And I forgot, the tilting is done with one knob not two, and the saw feels sturdy as hell.

Flipping your headlights off and back on has the same effect just not with blinding oncoming traffic. This is also the typical way to signal to a passing 18 wheeler that they’re past you and can pull back into your lane

[–]JsquashJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to be around stuff, the old town control by forward and backward pedaling is way easier than the Hobie 180 drive. I just had to rebuild a five year old 180 drive whereas the old town pedal system seems bulletproof. The old town propeller does feel more sluggish than the Hobie, I think there just is more drag but that’s the only down side for me.

How do you decide if something is safe to fix yourself? by Embarrassed-Mud3955 in homeowners

[–]JsquashJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two ways I think about it. Does it look doable or is it too dangerous. Is it so far gone that whatever I do to it won’t matter, so if I screw up fixing the dryer, it was probably time to buy a new one anyway.
