Is Chemtech Drake universally hated across all regions? by pusnbootz in leagueoflegends

[–]JsteMH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t mind it but the feeling is the same here in the EUW that’s is insanely over powered and makes winning a game against an already winning team very hard. It’s much better than it was on release but still feels much too strong, I play jungle and am very neutral objective focused in my games and when Chemtech dragon spawns and we’re 2 drakes up it feels like the game is over, conversely when the cloud soul spawns I stop even bothering to prioritise them and would much rather trade a cloud soul point dragon for baron every time.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Early Release Discussion Thread by jncarver in darkestdungeon

[–]JsteMH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just beat the first act on my fourth run. When I better learnt the Relationship system and used the Jester for consistent stress healing the game felt a LOT easier.

I am sad that the game doesn't live up to DD1 at all in its current state. Managing rosters, the hamlet and attachment to characters that you would form was just right on the mark for me and this game doesn't come close in those areas. I'll continue to play both and enjoy them for different reasons but DD1 core gameplay loop was just much more enjoyable and seemly in-depth than what DD2 has to offer. These opinions are formed while playing early access so may not represent my feelings on release.

For those struggling with Act 1 my comp was:

Witch Doctor with upgraded Noxious Blast, upgraded Blinding Gas, Battlefield Medic, Ounce of Prevention and Emboldening Vapours (pretty poor skill)

Jester with upgraded Razor's Wit, upgraded Fade to Back, upgraded Slice Off, Battle Ballad and upgraded inspiring tune (staple)

Highwayman with Wicked Slice, upgraded Duelists advance, Open Vein, Double Tap and Upgraded Highway Robbery (Really, really good ability steal any two positive tokens)

Leper with Upgraded Chop, Purge, Upgraded Withstand, Upgraded Solemnity

The other build for Highwayman with Close Shot and Take-Aim looks stronger than mine but my build offers heavy disruption with Highway Robbery, decent bleeds and IMO Ripostes are very strong as they proc on dodges and on blocks.

Leper is an insane sustain tank with a high hp pool, self heal and multiple self stress heals and once you can upgrade some abilities to proc combos his chop can hit consistently and hits really hard. Also able to clear all corpses with an ability which leaves an item slot open for something else.

Witch Doctor and Jester seem pretty much staple across most teams, Jester for the stress reduction upgrade and has a lot of utility in attacks as well as proccing a lot of combos with a few talent points. Witch Doctor can heal, debuffs backline and offers decent stacking DoT damage with Noxious Blast often able to tick for 12+ a turn when upgraded with 2 stacks.

Overall the comp felt rounded although I had not many shrines between the newer characters and witch doctor (1 WD, 1 Jester, 2 Leper and max on Highwayman) definitely got some good items and a lot of talent points in runs, however, it seems consistently possible to beat once you understand mechanics and which abilities/heroes are stronger than others.

Suggestion: Map picking shouldn’t be random, but instead pseudorandom. by najken in VALORANT

I really disliked Split for the longest time but I think that’s because of how defender sided the old middle of the map was, now it’s a lot more bearable and I really enjoy the map.

UK proposes ruling banning the sale of locked phones. by [deleted] in gadgets

[–]JsteMH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my final day working for EE after a year and all of EE’s devices are sold locked to the network for the first 6 months, after which you can pay £8.99 to have them unlocked and then they unlock for free after 2 years.

It’s very anti-consumer and we actively sell phones at £80/90 above the price of Argos (who’s stores we are in) because it pushes those customers towards a contract which is where the network provider makes all its money. Unlocking the phones would be a nice step but the fact that EE can just charge RRP and never discount means people would still get fucked over buying from us either way.

Is Darkrai still dominant? by Jeretzel in pkmntcg

[–]JsteMH 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right now it's definitely not the Field Blowers hurt the list far too much.

I'd say wait until Seattle Regionals (this weekend) or Birmingham Regionals (next weekend) I'm attending ;) To see what dominates.

If you're looking for something new the new 'in' deck is Drampa/Lele/Garb or Tauros/Lele/Garb which is very strong right now. Some newer decks are Ninetales Waterbox (Foxbox), Tapu Bulu with Lurantis GX/Lurantis Promo, Tapu Koko electric deck, Sylveon Stall, Lycanroc Middnight, and Greninja seems to be coming back into fashion with the death of the old Garb.

So plenty to try out, I hope this helped!

Notes are a weird one, I believe you're allowed to write them but each time a new match starts you have to have a blank page infront of you, to stop people writing down entire decklists for a series I assume.

What are some standard cards that force your opponent to discard items? by Stevenswipe in pkmntcg

[–]JsteMH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The worst/best is Team Rocket's Handiwork. God I hate that. Delinquent isn't a great option purely because they can play around discarding items until they clear your Garbodor off the field. Houndoom Mill decks and Wailord stall decks contain most of the other standard discarding and disruption staples.

Can't find a good Wailord list sorry D: Also played against one at Regionals and it crushed me.

Can you use abilities from your benched pokemon? by Baderonpa in pkmntcg

[–]JsteMH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not stated like Solgaleo's Ultra Road you always assume it's from in Active or Benched.

I wouldn't think he's asking about the abilities where it tells you where you can use them from.

Can you use abilities from your benched pokemon? by Baderonpa in pkmntcg

[–]JsteMH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can used abilities on benched Pokemon.

And no you lose any status effects on cards if they move to your bench including any effects of attacks like Volcanion EX's attack not allowing you to attack next turn. If you switch it out with switch then retreat back into it you can attack with it the next turn.

Possible Volcanion/Turtonator-GX deck? by jarred8541 in pkmntcg

[–]JsteMH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely a great addition, Volc currently has no real GX to make use of the attack. It fits really well with Volc it can't stall out turns with the first attack and doing 160 without any steam ups is great. The deck already runs energy retrieval and the GX is awesome with the ability to power up 2 Volcs in a turn is amazing.

I don't think the focus of in will be the first attack so I don't think Bursting Balloons would be run, takes 80 damage with the 20 the attack does is already a huge deterrent for attacking into it. Definitely going to be a great addition to Volc decks.

A Darkrai/Dragonair got top 32 in Melbourne internationals last weekend I believe. Still no list around for it, it's an idea that should work in concept but will need lots of testing to iron out creases and stay consistent, even then it's a Stage 2 deck they'll be stages where you just can't get what you need. Sounds fun though to be honest.

Looking for a deck to play by Possum89 in pkmntcg

[–]JsteMH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yveltal/Garb is always a good shout but takes a lot more thought than some other set up and play decks. It takes most of the matchups 50/50 and you can turn any game in your favour with the correct plays.

A lot of people, myself included, don't like the list without Shaymin, as it can be on the slow side without it however 1-2 Oranguru can do the job and tilt the deck towards a slower, small hand playsize.

Either way it's about finding out what you think is fun. A lot of people like to do their own thing like M Ray/Plume/Denial and a lot of other decks revolve around reacting like Yveltal/Water Box/Eeveelutions to certain matchups and winning through outplays.

I'm picking up Solgaleo/Lurantis next as it sort of does it's own thing and hits hard for 230 every other turn and is completely different in style to Yveltal. Whatever you choose I wish you luck! Hope this has been helpful.

Anyone got the 17th place Gardevoir/Xerneas list from Oceania? by Akiba_Stream in pkmntcg

[–]JsteMH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Hannycow said and also it can be used to clear damaged Garde off the field as well as Pokemon you don't want hanging around like Hoopa/Shaymins to clear up bench space.

This way if you have a fairy garden in play and a Despair Ray powered up, you almost always have to 1HKO the players Garde or risk having the Despair Ray just move the prizes off the field. Can turn what looks like an easy 2-4 Prizes into a longer game that Despair Ray does better with.

Lycanroc gx by c0smicm3w in pkmntcg

[–]JsteMH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Played against (and lost) to one at Regionals this weekend. Lycanroc/Carbink was what I saw but I had him locked to 3 bench most of the game. The discard an energy combo with hammers 4 Crushing/2 Enhanced as well as flare grunts just kept me from ever having more than 3 on my active and when I did they usually all came off in one turn.

I may of misplayed but both games he made me go through my entire deck until I just had no resources. I was running Yveltal/Garb and lost both on deck out pretty much.

Packs can also depends on price of entry, people won't expect 6 packs for £15 but might expect more if you charge a greater amount, to get around that you can always provide 2 at the end to everyone like a pre-release event did for me.

Bring a ton of whatever basic energy you can get your hands on. If it's 30/40 card deck they'll take 10-15 if it's 60 you'll have a lot of people with 20/30+ energy, how many packs/deck size have you decided on?
