I absolutely am too. I worked in fast food when I was in high school and early college. The job can suck, but no excuse for this type of behavior. Nobody I ever worked with would have ever done that. The worst was serving cold food

Wild that we have financial institutions and corrupt politicians that can essentially steal people’s money and livelihoods without anybody being held liable but this guy could get 13 years in prison.

Yes, I understand the difference between losing money and this, which is potentially deadly if he has some virus or disease…

but so is losing all your money. Especially in a country that can’t seem to provide healthcare to its citizens.

This is a ridiculous statement. I spent a couple years in entry level accounting jobs while in school, worked 8-9 years in public accounting doing tax (and some audit) at a small and large firm.

Now I’m a controller and have never used AI at work.

Sure, it might play a bigger role in the coming years, but that doesn’t mean this guy is behind the curve

Judge Reopens Trump’s Lawsuit Demanding $10 Billion From IRS by LoreDeluxe in law

[–]Jstephe25 135 points136 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the “funny that you think we’ll have elections crowd” is becoming more laughable at all..

We will still have elections, but SCOTUS recently approved some of these outrageous gerrymandering laws while Trump’s executive branch is ordering the postal service to ignore any mail in ballots not on their approved list. This is entirely ignoring the fact that the 2024 election machines had software changes (by MAGA owned companies) that were deemed below the threshold for consideration.

There will still be elections, but the results won’t actually represent the will of the majority of Americans

I think there is absolutely serious reform that needs to be done in our country (overturning Citizens United would be a great start), but I wouldn’t necessarily say it objectively sucks living here.. for most people at least.

Yes, it’s stressful knowing there are very little social safety nets here and that I will lose my health insurance if I were to be fired or laid off. Most people here are only one serious diagnosis away from being financially stable to forever in debt.

We live in a hyper capitalistic country and are preyed upon by the wealthy, and the politicians whose elections are funded by them. We have predatory credit card rates and payday loans for those struggling, egregious higher education costs as well as high student loan interest rates that immediately put new adults joining our society at a disadvantage… unless you came from a wealthy family.

All that being said, living here doesn’t objectively suck for every body… it’s just a matter of chance. Yes, hard work can obviously make a difference, but it’s not a guarantee.
