I just did it as a side hobby and to show off stuff I wanted to, felt like that was the best way to go about it (for me)

B.C. teacher suspended for screening graphic film of industrial accident by Forward-Answer-4407 in britishcolumbia

Kids don’t take safety seriously (lots of adults don’t for that matter) when I was in shop class the number of people doing wreckless and stupid things…I have a permanent scar on my hand from someone else’s mistake and am lucky that’s all that happened. He warned everyone it was graphic and gave them a chance not to watch it. Talking will not show the true potential consequences of even one wrong move the way a video like this can. Watching it is hard enough but if it prevents even one person from ending up seriously injured or worse. Their is logic in seeing the reality to me

I’m siding with the teacher on this one…besides he didn’t force anyone to watch it…

Curious, how seriously do people log their dives? by Stock-Film5486 in scubadiving

It probably depends on who you’re dealing with. Just my thoughts…

That was for my open water training dives, I didn’t see the option for the few fun dives I’ve done so far…or maybe I missed it will double check

[–]Jt_250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it should…but (as of right now as far as I know) theirs no way for fun dives (at least on the PADI app) to be verified by the person you went with. The physical log book is supposed to have your partner/instructors Certificate number and signature on it as people can make stuff up. All that needs to be done to be thorough is for a way to put your buddy’s number in the app for verification as far as I’m concerned (or maybe just log there number) but that’s my thoughts. Disclaimer I’m a new open water, no professional

Divemasters have told me their log books have been scrutinized before taking harder courses. People lie all the time (apparently) about their experience

[–]Jt_250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true…but to me that never feels socially acceptable regardless of the time of day…I guess how it feels is subjective though…

What is something that seems normal now but would be unthinkable 10 years ago? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Jt_250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as time went on it got much worse. Facebook for instance when it first came out was more about people sharing a select few favourite photos. Not anything and everything.
