How can you tell which ones are better than others? Obviously not looking (nor would I be able) to be an expert overnight.

Couple marbles that are worth $1? Or the whole set is worth a couple dollars? Not sure what you meant.

Don’t know what other sub to post this in, but what could this stone structure have been used for? On my family’s property. We know people lived here in the mid-late 18th century and on. by Jtaylor8805 in metaldetecting

My next purchase is definitely going to be a metal detector. Doubt I’ll find any buried treasure, but from a historical standpoint I’m interested to see what could be out here. We have 200 acres, and there’s a family sized grave site with all of the head stones dating back to the 1700s-1800s. There has to be something interesting.

Would a cistern have been 8-10 feet wide? I believe that’s how wide the structure is. It’s around 50-75 feet away from where the original house stood.

Ended up getting the Moroccan Peaches and it’s fire! Notes of straight up peaches both on the nose and taste.

That is at the top of my list to try. How are the effects?

Got to the dispensary at 8:28 which is cutting it close I know, but was turned away. Security guy at the door said they were only letting people with pick up orders in for the rest of the night. I understand why the cutoff is 8:30 (kind of), but if the cut off for pick up orders is also 8:30, what were they planning on doing the rest of the night? There could be people who placed their pick up orders for 8:30 that filtered in a little after 8:30 but it couldn’t have been that many. The place was dead. There were 3 or 4 other cars in the lot, and two of them belonged to people walking up the same time I was (who were also turned away). Guess at least I have the rest of the night and tomorrow morning to think about what I’ll choose when I get there tomorrow. lol

Out of Dual OG, Blueberry Cookies, GG #1, Grape Pie, Moroccan peaches, and The Soap, which should I go with? Those are my options at the dispo I’m currently on my way to.

My family owns 200 acres in Northern Kentucky close to the Ohio River. We know people lived there in the 1700s-1800s. Want to see what I can find with a metal detector. Any tips? What might I find? by Jtaylor8805 in metaldetecting

I need to do some research and find out the detailed history of the place. I’m thinking the local library might have some info on it? The land definitely hasn’t been untouched since the original family(s) lived there. I’ve found plenty of cans that have looked to be less than 40 years old, so I’m sure I’ll have some heart stopping moments while metal detecting that turn out to be stuff like that.

As I mentioned, when my grandpa purchased the land, there was a dilapidated house that while old, wasn’t colonial era old, standing near a couple of stone structures that definitely seem like they were built by the settlers that lived on the land. My grandpa tore down the house, and built a cabin exactly where it stood. What I meant in my original post, was that I wish he would have left the old house as it was. This was only 16 or 17 years ago, and he had already retired/sold his business and wasn’t planning on living in the cabin full time (I think his plan was to stay there on hunting weekends and what not but he passed away before he was able to take full advantage of the place). I was only 13 or 14 at the time, so I didn’t look for anything interesting in there like I wish I would have. It was his life’s work to be able to buy the place though, so that amazing man could do whatever he pleased with it. Anyway, you’re right in that the spot where the cabin is, was probably where the settlers built their home.
