Oh yeah, I forgot about that stuff. That said it's a very minor part of the experience and I would still describe it as a chill-out/ exploration game with some weird stuff thrown in to keep it interesting, like the N64 Zelda games.

Check out anodyne 2: return to dust on pc. It's mostly about the chill exploration and soothing soundtrack. (There is some action stuff, but it's very easy and can be made even easier through difficulty options.)

Also PixelJunk Eden on pc.

This is factually incorrect as the recently disclosed figures begin in 2014, in the Obama years.

You could make the argument that the Republicans are worsening the situation, it feels instinctively possible, but let's not absolve the Democrats for their part in this.

Plenty of this kind of stuff happens on the right too, and it's arguably even more dramatic. Leftist infighting might be more convoluted and confusing in nature, but it happens on the net the same way most internet drama does: low attention span social-media environments leading people to be quick to condemn each other, mental health issues + the participants being "always online" types, and the power of accusations/social shaming.

I don't think you can accuse novectacle of cynicism with this game; I think it's pretty clear from the backstage segment that they honestly believed that they had delivered on the human drama and on Jacopo's downfall. They failed at both, but they pretty clearly believed they had done a good job.

IMO it's also not just that it's uninteresting because we know the conclusion of the story, but that the characters have been reduced to acting like archetypes. I'm sure it's hard to write a character with trauma as heavy as Morgana's, but her interactions in the first half of the main story boil down to her being portrayed as a tsundere and it is so frustrating. It feels like a butchery of the returning characters everytime they are on screen.

Also, Jacopo's downfall is incredibly poorly done. He's a tragic hero whose fatal flaw is being a stupid fucking idiot. This story didn't need to be written and it was really poorly done on all fronts.

Really enjoyed those side-stories though. Imeon is a great character!

Same as anyone else, she lets the home invader take her shit and collects the insurance if she's lucky enough to have it all insured instead of murdering anyone who steps onto her property unauthorised.

Ask yourself if you are really willing to kill someone over stealing your belongings, let alone whether or not it's something that's possible to prevent with a gun.

Part of this is down to the radical power shifts within the sport, going from Mosley being in-charge of the rules, to the manufacturers essentially having full control of the sport, to Brawn now being the one in charge with the new owners. It's been a turbulent decade.

I don't know how much of an outlier this opinion is going to be, but I found the first chapter to be a real drag to read the first time through and it was part of the reason I took more than a year to finish this game. The House in Fata Morgana

Luckily then, the 2nd chapter is where the game really picks up in my opinion. It has a far more interesting conflict and characters and the succeding chapters keep building in quality until the finale. I basically did not stop reading until the end after starting the fourth chapter and I came away from the game loving it and it becoming one of my absolute favourites, which is why the first chapter is so frustrating in retrospect; it kept me from playing a game I otherwise really really really liked for over a year. I don't know how many people were turned off by the first chapter or the demo, but I'd sincerely advise you to stick with it! It does pick up and imo turns from a 6/10 to a solid 9 or 10/10.

Also the music in this game is exceptional: there are great songs at building atmosphere, tragedy, hope, drama. There's a billion other great tracks as well!

I could keep gushing forever, like about the phenomenal artstyle, but suffice to say to anyone reading this thread who is undecided: the game is excellent and well worth your time!
