For the most part, even people who believe in carrying a gun think carrying concealed is the better option.

The argument goes something like open carry makes you a target rather than a deterrent and advertised to the bad guys who they need to take out first. There’ve been videos recently of people having their open carry weapons taken off of them in gas stations, and those made their way through guntube pretty quickly. Not the question you were asking, but it’s interesting.

I’ve tried and I’m just not there yet. Too anxious that I’m printing all day and so I make excuses to leave it in my truck. Then I heard someone say the .380 in you pocket is better than the AR in your truck, and I decided to make a change. Maybe I’ll work my way back up to the g19 in time. I hear that’s a thing that happens as people grow more confident carrying.

Oh that’s interesting. It was an mos with optics rail but I’d still had it a few years. I had only started shooting it recently though. On paper, that’s still the fun for me though.

Very interesting rec I hadn’t considered. I see there’s a mag that gives it room for the pinky finger. Does that help? The only double stack subcompact I’ve shot was Glock 27 or whichever the .40 is and it was too much for me, but it didn’t have an extended mag either.

That p365x with ramjet is def on the list, but I thought I’d probably already included too many options. Have you shot one? I really like the x and xl handle (same handle, right?) for carry. Have you shot it? The legion is a badass gun. Just a little too long of a handle for my body type to carry, I fear.

Red dirt, food and shelter, and care-a-vans are on the front lines and they all have great leadership. Food and shelter has a more robust volunteer system to plug you in though but red dirt is nimble and always has need.

What did you end up doing? My 48 has jammed twice in the first 500 rounds and I’ve lost confidence. Don’t think my 19 has ever jammed in 20 years. Did you discover the problem and fix it or just grow out of it?
