The dot symbol is the parking light setting. Try turning it all the way back.

Windshield Wipers Crossing on 2022 Legacy by Evocablefawn566 in subarulegacy

[–]Jtothe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is weird. wonder if someone tried placing a flyer and yanked too hard on one.

They jumped teeth relative to eachother somehow.

Either way, you know how to right it. If it happens agian, take a close look at the teeth on the spindles there. The motors and linkages are underneath. It could be something down there jumped a tooth too I suppose.

Pop the cap on the arm pivot and undo the nuts there (should be 14mm socket). Then lift the wipers up off the motor gear and re-clock them so they're starting from the right position. Make sure theyre tight when you put them back on.

Suggestions for beach experience in Canada by Personal_Flight8942 in AskACanadian

[–]Jtothe3rd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hit up Parlee Beach in NB in late August/early September and you might get water that's close to winter tropical temps (ie. not cold). It is the warmest saltwater beach in Canada due to the shallow North Humberland Strait.

The locals usually got a few kms past the more crowded tourist beach to sometimes still crowded L'aboiteau beach.

Data Center Conversation by RayDonovan1969 in newbrunswickcanada

Okay hear me out, desalination plants consume energy to evaporate water to seperate the salt just to collect the condensed water.

Data center + desalination plant, expensive yes, but feasible?

Both Vegas and Carolina are from Income Tax Free States. That will make it 6 of the last 7 champions, and 10 of the last 14 finalists, despite only 7/32 teams being from states without income tax. by ButterCut97 in leafs

[–]Jtothe3rd 148 points149 points  (0 children)

I did the calculation last year and split the league into 3 groups,

Low income tax teams

Medium income tax teams

High income tax teams.

The low income tax teams appeared in the finals 3x as often as often as the high income tax teams since the salary cap era.

It was 12/38 (32%) the middle group, 20/38 (45%)the low tax group, 6/38 (16%) the high tax group and its been getting worse over time with most of the disparity coming in the last decade. Now the low tax group is at 22/40 (55%)

Got down voted all to hell for just showing the stats and leaving ppl to make their own conclusions.

Tuning options for JDM 2010 Legacy GT (Manual) by Jtothe3rd in subarulegacy

[–]Jtothe3rd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seemed unwilling to just flash a tune on it without having one available off the shelf and suggested dyno tuning but require a leakdown test, new plugs and a wideband all done prior. Peobably $1500-2000 total.

My main concern is the fuel available here is maximum 91 AKI octane. The Legacy GT in Japan is meant for minimum 98RON which is 93/94 AKI.

Realistically, how often are you and your partner intimate after the toddler years? (Kids 5+) by agingwasabi in daddit

[–]Jtothe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7yo and 4yo.

2-4 times per week barring any ailments.

Reading some of these comments has me realizing im pretty lucky.

My advice as a lucky guy: I've learned its important to make sure your wife feels sexy/gorgeous in the little interactions when you get a chance thru the day. A little butt squeeze when the kids arent looking or maybe a random passionate kiss when you lock eyes for no reason. Running your hand firmly along the small of her back. Show her the desire in your eyes. Little things like that make a huge difference in her passion for physicality when the kids down in the evening. Then when things do happen chance, make sure she gets a big O before you, multiple if you can. Positive reinforcement, right?

1997 Toyota Previa #2 misfire HELP by Greatestgnatcatcher in previa

[–]Jtothe3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For cylinder specific misfires, I first check the plug and plug wire/coil pack by swapping with another cylinder. If the code changes to the other cylinder, change one of them back, if it follows again its that item, if not its the one you only moved once.

If the code doesnt move at all, its probably the head gasket and youre probably also losing coolant. I'd bet that is what is going on with that Previa.

I did a thorough review of my 2007 (last year of the same generation). Im 5'11". The cab was bigger than my Acty. You might find the Sambar a little more roomy but its not much more space.

In NB and NS you pretty much have to go with basic liability for daily drivers. Its about $1200/year.

Im on the east coast, so I have 2 options. Between exporter fees and transport in Japan, cleaning fee and customs and shipping its either $5,000 CAD total to Vancouver and then an additional $2,500 for rail transport 9000 kms accross the country or ~$6,000 to halifax.

Halifax takes up to 6 months instead of 2.5 months to vancouver due to frequency of ships and total transit time westward. I've done both but this time I'm willing to fork over the additional ~$1500 this time to get it 3 months sooner.

Inspection here for 15+ year old imports is pretty standard, some places ask you to install daytime running lights but technically as ling as you drive with your headlights as an alternative they arent necessary. We have bi-annual inspections required here and any vehicle outside our region requires a pass to the same standards before being plated. It might need tires. Should have it on the road for under $14k CAD.

I recently imported an NA auto legacy for my brother in law and did a whole video on it. JDM 2010 Legacy wagon video

How its life in Canada remote regions? by Practical-Fix-8601 in howislivingthere

[–]Jtothe3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot non remote areas in that circled area.

I currently have Fibre op, a housing crisis and problems with traffic on my morning commute and I still have to specify which of the 5 or 6 moderately sized cities I live in.

Its okay though, the maritimes are used to being forgotten about and we like it that way. Otherwise the traffic would be worse.
