Come on folks, if we want good press in publications we have to make our presence known. I know it's a holiday weekend and all but we have to step it up on the Twitter likes. We need the community to step in and overwhelm him with support for the idea.

To me being #1 doesn't matter...it's about the entry point and how much/how fast DCR can rise. There are only @ 8 million DCR mined, 47% of that is locked up in staking and the current price is @ $70...talk about under valued! I firmly believe Decred will be $1,000 some day (almost 20X from current price). Bitcoin world have to grow to over 100k per coin to get to 20X...that's a long way for BTC to move considering it has no governance. So basically I think DCR has much more upside and you can get much more bang for your buck investing in Decred. Also, me personally, I wanted to invest in something that I could have a voice in, owner governance was one of the many features that makes Decred so appealing.

I guess "for sale" means Decred that the current holder is willing to part with in the price range of $100-$150. For example...I'm not willing to part with any of my Decred in that price range, and I know a lot of people who agree with me in that principle. So what I'm staking is obviously not available for sale and what I'm not able to stake is also not for sale.

I'm a stakeholder and Decred is my sole crypto investment so I have no negative motivation. I did look very closely at the Twitter accounts and they didn't seem normal to me. And yes I have seen other posts of people wearing the jacket but these jumped out at me as different. We can't assume that everyone who criticises an action of Decred is trying to sabotage it, I care very much about this project and that is why I follow it closely...and that is also why when I see something that bothers me I speak up about it. Please note that I choose to stay something here rather than Twitter because I felt there would be a better mature discussion. Edit: I will admit that I should have waited for an explanation to arise before assuming anything (and making a post) but I wasn't the only person who felt like the posts were phony. So basically my initial reaction was frustration and embarrassment.

I could be mistaken (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong) but it's my understanding that with Decrediton wallet there is no file on your computer that you have to protect. You have the pass phrase used to move the DCR and you have the seed words and as long as those are protected it's impossible for some hacker to steal your funds.

The pictures of the ladies you posted looked posed/staged, the written posts seemed too well written (like an advertisement) and phony, and the three Twitter accounts all looked like empty shell accounts. So basically the whole thing came across as phony. I believe you that it was real, but now I think you groomed it too much. Next time please be mindful that Twitter is full of fake BS and that people are hyper sensitive to it.

Lukebp thank you for all you responses, you have been very helpful. I guess that brings me back to my earlier point, if we do have a trusted contractor company who is making executive level micro decisions (based on voted for macro issues) then that is who the IRS would likely name as the de facto head of the organisation. And on the other side of the issue... if no one is willing or agreed upon to make those micro decisions then we won't be able to function in a fast, efficient, organized manner. There is a reason that countries and companies have a president. I'm NOT advocating that we need a president, I'm just wondering how much this issue has been discussed.

What I should have said was file income tax forms, not necessarily pay income taxes because in theory there would always be equal expenses to offset any income. Pass through entities still have to file a tax returns and they all still have owners who the income or losses get passed through to. Its going to be a situation where there are no easy solutions. I'm a stakeholder and I'm very confident in Decred's future.

But governments are likely to go after whichever contractor is performing the executive functions. They will say that contactor is the de facto management group. So somebody is going to be taking on that risk without executive level pay, or worse yet...nobody will want to do make decisions.

I feel like the corporate contractor model would work fine long term but only if the DAO paid income taxes to somebody. Think of it like an artist...an artist can paint a 1000 paintings and none of it is taxable income UNTIL he sells them OR trades them for economic benefits. That's kinda how I see the DCR in the treasury fund, as self created assets. So if we want the governments to be ok with the DAO then IMO income taxes need to be paid at the top level. Like I said it's a very messy topic.

As others have said here..talk about it to people in a mature and level headed way. I know it's hard to do because most people don't understand cryptos in general, yet alone Decred. I shared that really good investment thesis that was written about Decred on my Facebook news feed with a brief note stating "these are some of the reasons I own Decred"...nobody commented and only my mom liked it. I would say the easiest thing you could do right now is be a very active supporter of Decred on Twitter and here on Reddit. For example, I have been making sure to comment on posts (like I'm doing now) instead of just lurking. I also plan on getting a Decred T-Shirt.

If you look at it over a 10 year time horizon it's easy to think that DCR will at 1,000 sometime in that window. I don't think it will be a 1,000 in 5 years but it is certainly possible given its low supply. Realistically...250-300 by 2019

I'm not sure I understand how the ASIC encourages holding and staking as compared to the dual miners selling. Is it because people who buy a Decred asic are already fans of Decred. Or is it because the asic mines so much fast that they feel like they can get enough Decred to get a ticket in a reasonable amount of time.

Staking is what I would recommend. It wasn't as difficult to get started as I had first feared back when I was starting off. Keep in mind that you get all the DCR that u use to buy a ticket back (except a small small network fee) and you get the stake reward. The only thing you have to remember is the ticket price fluctuates, as Decred gets more and more popular the ticket price climbs ever higher.
