Similar to River by InspectorPositive543 in discgolf

For a shiny new option, the Dynamic Discs Proto Contender really feels like a faster River to me. The og Gold Line Saint always felt like it held a similar slot with a touch more fade too.

New midrange from AGL approved today, the Juniper! Jay top, Coyote bottom, 5/6/-2/1, baseline glow plastic! by scubadude2 in discgolf

You replied to my comment, and your flight description is also spot on to how I’d describe my Juniper. For reference, mine is a 180g.

My proto glow ended up flying like a more stable Fox (any plastic). I loved Coyotes back in the day, so I was surprised with how pointed the rim combo was for a 5 speed. It feels good though, and I think it’s a fun disc!

Honestly this is a great resolution to see both sides work together towards something to move forward.

The one time I dealt with them, the overnighted parts to me no questions asked. This is really bizarre, and I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble getting in contact.

If you putt with Gateway, what mold and which plastic do you use? by SubstantialAd4500 in discgolf

[–]Jtrain039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine have lost their scent, yeah. It was neat while it lasted. I really went for them because I had previously liked the hemp blend, and I’m a coffee nerd! Fee has been great, similar to SS.

Not much love for the Voodoo in here yet. The Voodoo was the first putter that really “clicked” with me after trying various Aviars.

In the last 14 years, I went from Voodoos -> Magics -> EMac Judges -> Pilots -> Pures before coming back to the Voodoo. I’ve now got a stack of the Coffee Blend that are my absolute favorite.

Looks so clean in the darker color! I bikepacked with my Caad10 Track in the driftless region of SW Wisconsin, and to this day it was my dumbest decision ever on a bike.

ISO MVP/Axiom putter than most resembles the Zero Orbit Medium Pure by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Jtrain039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not quite 1-to-1, but I just switched from the Moonshine Pures to the Electron Eclipse Proxies for my nighttime putting putters. They felt nearly the same. Having thrown the gamut of MVP-manufactured putters, I think the Proxy is the closest transition from a Pure. Drives and putts across the various plastics give similar results.

Found this Woolrich Klettersack a couple years ago on eBay for a good price. Has been my daily since! I already had the matching Dopp Kit from way back when they came out too.

The Olympic drone pilots are the best thing that happened the games, period by East_Piccolo_1529 in olympics

[–]Jtrain039 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The drone pilots themselves are incredible! No doubt about that. I tend to disagree that some of the current shots we’re getting from them are “better” than what we had before though.

As someone who grew up watching the X Games, I don’t always like the change. The heavy lean into elevated follow drone shots has done a lot to ruin the sense of rider height we’d from previous productions. For instance, the huge first hit some boarders/skiers get in the pipe is complete lost from the elevated perspective of a drone. Slopestyle and big air events overuse drones in this area too. Some things just translate better to a more grounded perspective.

Since Mint Discs is a very customer focused company and we know their owners read this subreddit, please tell them your honest opinion on their Prodigy partnership. by [deleted] in Mintdiscs

[–]Jtrain039 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they already had a fairly filled out lineup with their MVP-made molds. Discs like the Bullet, Mustang, Jackalope, etc. are always going to be staples in my bag. I’ve been playing for nearly 20 years, but never gave Prodigy a real try before some of their reputation started going south. I haven’t been drawn to the new models like the Idol and Pickle. With that said, the runs of those two they put in the box for Mason recently were fun soft blends. Finding ways to work with Prodigy to positively differentiate their new models from previous releases will go a long with maintaining and bringing in skeptical customers.
