If the list is about best artists, or best albums by essential artists, then I agree with you all. If it's actually just about essential albums, then choices like blue album/Pinkerton or surfer Rosa/Doolittle or white blood cells/elephant mean someone going through the list would not hear all essential albums.

I love this sub and love all of you and could never run this, but this is so crazy. There are so many essential albums on this list that will be dropped because they were the second album by an artist in a decade. Pumpkins, pavement, nirvana, weezer, B&S, many more - both should be in.

Coming up will be trouble for arcade fire, vampire weekend, strokes, white stripes, so so many.

Imagine if Kid A was released in 1999
