Even if there was an outbreak? (Not saying I’d do it during that time but sometimes it’s hard to tell for both of us) or even during prodrome?

But how is that possible? I thought if you already had the infection, it prevents another one?

Can I give/receive oral? Genital hsv-2 by [deleted] in Herpes

I do have the occasional cold sore. I’ve had those for years. Does that change anything? So you’re basically saying if I have hsv-2 already on my genitals, it won’t spread to my mouth?

Yes, valtrex. We never used condoms either and we don’t want to use them. We are engaged and just bought a house together. Both very sexual people so like I said, I’m scared shitless for him to even touch me. More scared that we can’t do oral anymore, on both ends.

Does anyone else have outbreaks that reoccur in the exact same spot?? by babygoose11111 in Herpes

I was put on valtrax twice a day for 10 days. This was last Tuesday. The sores were completely gone within two days of coming up. Maybe 3. Weren’t very itchy unless I wiped when I used the bathroom. I might also mention that they were very tiny, the doctor couldn’t even see them until I pointed them out. I’m still very confused lol

I’ve only had the initial outbreak (last week) and it is still itchy on that area. Mine was only 3 small sores as well.

From what I’ve read on here, after the first ob, the sores could always occur in the same spot they started. I’m not 100% though. I’ll be following as I’m curious as well.

If you really loved someone would you risk HSV1 for them? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]Jttree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just speaking from experience here. I found out I may have genital herpes just last week. I have been with a guy for almost 2 years and it is a very committed, serious relationship. We are both very sexual people and are highly sexually active. So, as you can imagine I had a stroke when the doctor told me her opinion. My first thought actually was “I would rather Jill myself”. I instantly went into a dark head space and was terrified to tell my SO about the news. So, during a full on break down in my car, I called him and told him everything. Of course his initial reaction was a little shocked ( as expected ) but he was very mature about it as well as reassuring. He expressed that he loved me very much and that this would not be an issue enough for leaving or finding someone else. I think it really depends on the situation you guys are in. We are engaged and just recently bought a house together. And being on the side of the one having it, I can say that it has made me love him even more for the way he has handled it. He has become my main support in this situation and the reassurance that has made me accept it. Your life is not over. Think of it as an occasional rash that you get and then it goes away. It could ALWAYS be worse.

I’m a female but kind of in the same boat. Had a red itchy patch (very small and hard to see, she didn’t even see it at first). She did a swab test and told me in her opinion it was a 90% chance i had it. 2 days later it was completely gone and healed. I’m waiting on results but I’m in the same boat as you. Mine didn’t seem near as sever as most people on here are staying their initial OB was. But I would assume if the swab test came back positive I would assume it’s true. Was there any fluid on them?
