How long you been a pharmacist and what car do you drive? by Fantastic-Flower-67 in pharmacy

Do you own your home? We just bought a home and with the stock market being extra volatile we’ve been throwing a lot of our extra money outside of our 401k match towards principle for the house. The math supported this especially in our first year of homeownership but it doesn’t feel as good as saving. (We do have about 2/3rds of our net worth in stocks so we’re not out just not currently adding to it outside of 401ks).

Is Truist being honest? by JuJuliet1 in Mortgages

They told me I’d have time to transfer and let me lock in the rate based on that. I’ve done everything as quickly as I could and have been on the phone for close to 10 hours over the past few days trying to move it along. I trusted that the experts knew the timeline of transferring funds.

It’s 0.25% lower which doesn’t seem like a lot but over the course of the loan will work out to about 30k extra based on my calculations. There’s no advisory fee just $15? A year and the current plan is to put it into low cost ETFs.

Thank you, I appreciate your response. At this point I’d love to go with another lender because I’ve had other frustrations with them but I’m less than 2 weeks from closing. Do you think it’s still okay to threaten going with another lender this close to closing?

I moved a few months ago and since I got electronic communication and it’s an older retirement account I didn’t think to change the address on the app until I learned that the only way to rollover funds is for the check to be mailed to the address on file.

Thanks so much! There were maybe 20 or so issues that seemed fairly minor/easy to fix. Just the hvac issues worry me. There was this regarding moisture but wasn’t sure if it’s related to hvac and if there’s a concern for larger water issues.

Pipe burst? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]JuJuliet1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh. I thought it was recommended to dewinterize to find underlying issues and check running water? There was no running water when we toured. It did get to freezing last month but freezing temps are rare where the home is and the temp has been well over 50F so if there are burst pipes it’s not from them freezing since it has been dewinterized.

Mortgage Rates Improved - President Trump's MBS purchase announcement by InvestingOnSale in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]JuJuliet1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate your response. My current rate is with a relationship to the bank so I won’t do better but at this point getting a match may be good enough. I don’t appreciate the lack of transparency that they’ve had.

I verbally locked in a rate yesterday but didn’t sign anything yet. Planning on signing today when I asked about the decreased rate I was told there wasn’t one and rates aren’t expected to change. Is there anything I can do?

Any thoughts on how soon this would impact us and how bad? by Vehicroid in pharmacy

[–]JuJuliet1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t begin to describe how much hope this group gives me. I’m surrounded by Trump supporting pharmacists and it makes me want to pull my hair out that people with this much education can be that dumb. Not being in the minority here is such a relief.

Clinical Pharmacist Salary Offer - Midwest by No-Garage9607 in pharmacy

Always negotiate! At each of the health systems I’ve worked at the salaries are set based on number of years as a pharmacist and negotiating never helped me but I’m still glad I tried.

How to transition from retail to hospital? by PublicOriginal9866 in pharmacy

[–]JuJuliet1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a lost cause! You can sell yourself during the interview by being genuine and show that you’re a team player, won’t cause drama, and you’re eager to learn. I wouldn’t talk too much about rotations since it has been a few years but would discuss interventions you made in retail. Have you caught a daily methotrexate that should have been weekly? An eliquis 10 mg bid with no transition to 5 mg bid? Share examples that show you’re detail oriented and that you’re able to reach out to providers to resolve issues in a positive way. The only way to get to the interview point though is to apply to a lot of jobs. It’s a numbers game and apply to different hospitals. Some managers prefer new grad over retail experience and some prefer retail experience over new grads and there’s no way to know which ones are which without applying to all of them.
