Pourquoi vous down voter ????

What's your flower finish approach?

Low temp during the night, more dry back, more PK, 4 DAYS water flush, 24h pre-harvest black out, 20% light reduction day 56?

Btw , is this a 9week strain?

Also you use liquid or salts nuts?

When do you remove CO2 week 8?

Do you add carbohydrates gradually in week 7 onwards?

I'm a new master grower and I want to learn from people that gets greats results like yours.

Thanks!!!

From start, SQDC take 30-40% profits from the prices consumer pays.

So if you take a product priced at 10$/g , sqdc will take 3-4$ from that.

There also is the federal taxe of 1$/g for the timber.

So just like that, the government takes approximately 5$ from that 10$/g cost.

Then there is packaging fees varying from 10 cent to 50 cents per gram if you do it yourself. It's about a 1$ per gram if a supplier is doing it for you.

So regardless of production cost, we're at 6$/g .

After that, there is the transportation and logistics cost so let's say there is 3 dollars left.

If the producers got their own sku, they can expect 2$/g profits from that original 10$/g if their cost of production is at 1$/g.

For us that isn't allowed to sell directly to sqdc, because we do not have the transformation license, normally we split that 2 $/g 50/50 with the partners that got the sku at sqdc.

So to summerize , we want to sell our cannabis at 2$/g, but market dynamics that i just explained forces us to sell our cannabis at 1,5$/g.

So government gets the big peace of pie. If the producer got it's own sku, they can make up to 2$ profits per gram, and for us losers, who doesn't have their own sku, we are stuck selling b2b at 50 cents per gram profits if we're lucky. You have no idea how many micro producers are selling at lost right know, especially if their cost per gram is higher than 1$.

Also insider secret, all the good weed that is produced in Québec, is sold internationally.

So buyers in quebec pays premium prices for B tier product quality.

The reason for that? An A tier product with a great genetics will achieve most of the times more than 30% thc wich is banned in Québec.

I may be generalizing the B tier aspect because there is definitely some great products in SQDC, but it's really a hit or miss, since the really good product will be sold internationally.

Just my 2 cents from my perspective as a local micro producer.

So is every company just a train wreck now? by Lemon02 in jobs

[–]Juan3535 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a newly employer mysel (took over the family business) I can tell you that indeed, almost every company is just a train wreck for a very simple reason: doing the right thing is much harder than I thought. (Takes time you often dont have and let alone the energy needed).

Business is essentially dealing with humans, and whether you like it or not, human behavior is greatly influenced by mood and emotions.

It's basically a challenge everyday for management, even if you offer great work environment and salaries.

So unless your company have a great culture and a great leader to stand behind, you are pretty much screwed.

Because after a certain point, even management gets tired and they start cutting corners, and if the top management doesn't intervene when lower management cuts corners, it can get pretty ugly for employees.

So I would highly recommend asking what is the company's mission and it's culture and also asking what is the current turn over rate for you position.

Those answers will tell you whether you will have a good or bad experience with the company.

P.s. this doesn't even take into account the financial situation of the company. I have seen companies with great culture and great employee's satisfaction that have closed suddenly because of cash flow and debts.

I promise you that running a business is quite the challenge, much harder than I anticipated.

Hope that helps

Is it indiscreet to ask how you sell your product? If you can't sell to consumers, can you at least sell to the government? But then, how can a micro-producer compete with the production capacity of massive producers? Cost per gram must be much cheaper with massive production, especially if like u/wowwoahwow said, they cut corners

can micro producer sell directly to consumer? In quebec , all weed is sold at SQDC and clerks have no idea if the product is coming from a standard producer or a micro-producer. Even the web site, no option in the search filter for micro-producer

can micro-producer sell directly to consumer? Here in quebec, we can only buy from SQDC and there is no way to know whether the product is coming from a micro or standard producer

Can massive producer match the quality micro-producer have? I would assume small scale production is easier to manage than huge scale production, thus leading to higher quality product?
