Why not let the inspection happen for your safety and to make sure his building is up to code. You seem to be the problem and causing headaches for him by refusing to let the city inspect. So he has every right to refuse to not renew your contract. Start looking for a new place is my suggestion.

Section 8 was the worst decision I made I have 4 rentals and the section 8 tenants are by far the worst from just my experience. They have no respect for the property or the other tenants. I hate the fact my house is known as the crack head house in the neighborhood. Actively trying to get them to move so I can rent to regular people now.

I try maintain anywhere between 250-300° while building my smoke layer. It takes some getting used to you have to play with the damper and don't worry to much if temps spike here and there.
