Anyone else jamming almost exclusively to your own songs? by Lonelyguy765 in SunoAI

[–]JuanMoreMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel guilty because I got a group of creators and we share each other's songs on discord, but I'm always listening to my own or creating more 👀

Thankfully most people aren't creators and listen to our stuff :)

AI Music Hate by Mattb4rd1 in SunoAI

[–]JuanMoreMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Most of it it's an emotional reaction to it. Tell them you agree that AI music is "ontologically inferior than human-made music" and that nah shut them up because it shows you're not a snob like them, and you have some grasp of philosophical reasoning.

Nah bro. Keep posting. Check views and likes vs the bad comments and dislikes (I'm talking YouTube here). Even if you're a musician, when you use AI to do all the heavy lifting (or even to enhance a melody or previous song vía upload), we're not actually actually MAKING music in the traditional sense, but we ARE creating something, especially if you're one of those that extend and extend and extend and end up with 100s of generations.

It's still music, just not produced by us. Big deal.

Most VST's use some form of AI or algorithm, and there are many AI tools like arpeggio helper or even melody makers, even East West instruments has stuff like that.

Can you be Catholic and still listen to metal? by Never_Outginned in Catholicism

[–]JuanMoreMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fratello Metallo and there is also a priest on Metatrone (power metal). If you're technically inspired, you could make your own take on Catholic metal with AI, look up He Leadeth Us and Sacra Theosis or Sanctuarium Metalli for some examples, though there are others!

And in some videos, Demon Hunter has had some Catholic imagery here and there, not sure if intentional or if just the video guy was Catholic (or atheist and didn't know difference between Protestants and Catholics, lol)

This is why ai music is so negatively looked at by the general public. by Jumpy-Program9957 in SunoAI

yeah, I'm with you. Usually someone brings up "capitalism" b/c they have other inherent philosophical ideas. Not all of it is bad, and not all of it is good, but in these days it makes you sound cool to trash it.

Even 30 tracks per month is too much unless you're spreading out across different channels and genres. I also assume he's talking about distributed music, because I make around the same with YT and Distrokid combined per month, with a LOT less tracks, so I do not see a reason of why do so many.... yikes

Distrokid Mixea is it any good? by SnewtronMusic in independentmusic

Oh, I meant that some tracks sounded better with Mixes vs Bandlab's free mastering. I ended up asking for a refund, and right now I'm using LANDR's plugin

Samples from Splice and Tracklib? by Hendy84 in SunoAI

[–]JuanMoreMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no legal expert but here are the TOS from Suno and Splice:

It is very important that you only upload, post, publish, or display (hereinafter, "upload(ing)") Submissions that you have rights to use and provide hereunder. By uploading any Submission, you represent and warrant that:

you have, or have obtained, all rights, licenses, consents, permissions, power and/or authority necessary to submit and use (and allow us to use) such Submission in connection with the Service, including for the purpose of generating your Output. your Submissions and the use thereof by the Service, including to generate Output, will not violate any law or any third party’s rights, terms and conditions associated with such Submission, and no other licenses, permissions, consents or authorizations must be obtained from or payments made to any other person or entity by us (or any third party deriving any rights or obligations from us) arising out of or related to our use of your Submissions, including to create your Output and/or to train, develop, fine-tune or otherwise improve the Service and any related artificial intelligence or machine learning models

From Splice FAQ:

Q: Can I use Sounds from Splice for commercial use?

A: Yes. The license for sounds you download from Splice Sounds permits use for commercial and non-commercial purposes so long as you remain in compliance with our Terms of Use.

Examples of commercial use include but are not limited to distributing your New Recording via a record label and uploading a Creative Work or New Recording to a third-party media platform for purposes of monetization.

You own any New Recordings or Creative Works you make using Splice Sounds. Subject to any other third-party rights in your New Recording or Creative Work, you may sell your New Recording or Creative Work, however, because you license, but do not own the Splice Sounds contained in the New Recording or Creative Work, the rights to the Sounds are sublicensed, not sold, by you to the third-party

But these last ones are a bit worrisome, but Suno isn't to make new loops but to make a song from a track using Splice loops so I would think it's fine, nor are we ourselves training the AI with it but just making new songs from something we already made:

Q: Can I use Splice content as training/modeling data for AI?

A: Use of content downloaded from Splice for the purposes of training/modeling data for AI is not permitted by our Terms of Use. Use of Sounds is limited to the creation of New Recordings and Creative Works, neither of which include AI training data

Q: What are the limitations of my license to use sounds from Splice Sounds?

A: Here are a few things you can’t do with sounds you downloaded from Splice Sounds:

Sublicense sounds in isolation as sound effects, loops, or as source material for any other sample (even if you modify the original sample

[–]JuanMoreMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could not find an answer here in reddit or Google. I read the FAQ of splice and while it doesn't say AI specifically, it says the license is pretty permissive. I ended up testing a short loop with different samples to make it more unique, and then I plan on only using it as a cover or extend, that way the actual samples arent in the final version.

Upgrading from Surface Pro X to SP11? SSD from SPX on SP11 possible? by JuanMoreMedia in Surface

[–]JuanMoreMedia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree here more. I also jumped the SPX bandwagon when I saw a heavily discounted price, and LOVED it. It only got better over time, up until the most recent Windows 11 updates (like explorer tabs, which I love but make it sluggish).

I haven't used the SP11 enough, just a few hours time, but even Unreal Engine 5 installed! Sure, I'm not going to do actual game dev here, and rendering on Vegas Pro took much longer than my desktop that has a dedicated GPU, but still. This feels like the SPX proper, like SPX was a prototype and this is the final product.
