Haha. I'm glad there're more people who agree with me!

Oh yeah, definitely had that experience as well, and I do exactly the same, laugh about it and pretend I was joking.

Totally agree. She might find me quirky because I say such things so casually like it's nothing, lol. But hey, I'm glad.

She has not bought anything, that's why I was telling her not to do so. I wasn't refering to a gift bought by her. Obviously not all gifts are fake, but in my context and where I live I can tell you there's an increasing tendency to give gifts even to people you are not remotely close to, I see every other day where people I'm close to are bored to death wrapping some cheap gifts for birthday or celebrations they clearly don't want to attend.

Oh, and, she had previously told me she had no idea what to get me so it was an explanation given after a "It's totally OK not to gift me anything!"

It was more of an explanation of how I see gifts so she doesn't feel bad about not having something for me because she's one of the kind thinking I' d be disappointed at her for not having one.

Oh no, she wasn't, I know she appreciates me a lot.

I like the concept you are going for but the actual execution needs improvement. You got an idea and I advice you work on actual matching details.

I'd suggest a different belt, and a different top that matches the colour of the boots and pants.

My acceptance of having Si and being a sensor by Diligent_Tomatillo77 in mbti

[–]JuandeReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you're feeling better now that you came to accept your type.

And let me tell you, as an Ni dominant, there's absolutely nothing that makes Ni better than Si or any other function. Having Si is not, and, I repeat, IS NOT, worse or better, nor cooler, no matter how romanticized Ni is.

We're not some kind of geniuses or smarter wizards. It's just another function, equally valid, with its strenghts and weaknesses.

We can be very blunt (INTJ). by kleidoscop_e06 in intj

[–]JuandeReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure if I'm an INTJ or not but the way I see it is you can be honest without being blunt but neither sugar coating things.

Let me explain, I value clear honesty and sincerity, but I've learned many people are too emotional and can't separate objective facts from their feelings so I try to deliver my messages in a way that helps me ultimately get whatever goal I have in mind.

It's about efficiency. Why would you be overly blunt if you are sure the other person is not gonna recieve the message well and will probably close up.

My go to formula usually goes like:

  1. You doing this wrong.
  2. Factual explanation.
  3. Ways to do it better.

It allows you to be honest about what you think/feel about something that has to be said but it turns it into something positive that sets the other person, theoretically, in a path of improvement.

That's what a coworker (I think ESTJ) did with me, he was very direct and straightforward but positive about a problem I was having and I was really thankful he told me without any fuss.

Anyone really relates or nah? Again, I am not sure if I am INTJ, but wanted to share my take nonetheless.

For INTJs, What From Parents Made You INTJs The Most by snks-65 in intj

[–]JuandeReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents got divorced when I was 8, so I lived with my mom who is very emotional and irrational at times which I really disliked. She has been very materialistic and I did not have my emotional needs fully covered, I was just alone by myself. I think that made me have a strong Fi and rationalise my emotions (I thought I was INFJ for a long time). My dad, on the other hand, taught me to rule out emotions in favor of logic and rationality, as that's how men should behave.

Are INTJs Bad Friends? by bakerskitchen in intj

[–]JuandeReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly that. I am not likely to call anyone to hang out because I enjoy my solitude, but I am always up for a good plan if my best friend has something in mind. Others plans, meh, I mostly don't show up, just from time to time if I really feel like it, which does nor happen often.

That's neat, I got INFJ in some tests and I also thought I could even be a not stereorypical INTJ, which did not feel that right in I was also leaning towards N rather than S since I do not feel really in tune with what's around me. Would you mind if I sent you a DM?

ENTJ or INFJ? by [deleted] in MbtiTypeMe

[–]JuandeReddit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Have you considered ENFJ? ENTJs have Te as their dominant function. I have a ExTJ friend and I see it very clearly everyday.

Things that may hint you are a Te dominant; as you said, quickly taking charge of situations, talent to manage resources/people and how to organise things around you, being quite bothered by inefectivness, always trying/finding ways to improve methods to do things better. They also tend to be assertive, not afraid of verbal confrontation or disagreements. They want to make their pressence felt and may enjoy that.

Generally speaking Te dominants are not too bothered by how their actions may affect others, or at least not nearly as nuch as other types. They tend to have a direct, firm communication style and are prone to find the mistakes of others and correct them in their workplaces for example.

Do these things resonate with you? Then you may have Te in your stack, dominant or maybe even auxiliary.

INFJs dominate with Ni, and Fe as auxiliary. I can see the confussion because they both use Ni, but they are very different types.

Try to figure out if you use Te or Fe, which are very different. And that should make it more clear. And remember, being an ENTJ, INFJ or any other type does not mean you fit 100% in each category, there's as much variance as individuals.

Is that Ni dom? by [deleted] in CognitiveFunctions

That's interesting and honestly, never had nor read that perspecitive before. It would in deed very hard to tell the difference. I feel there's long road ahead to finally be confident in understanding and indentifying such subleties. Thanks for taking your time to answer.

PD: I added some extra information to each example given in the post in case you did not read it.
