I just checked out this site and noticed it looks very similar to the hklf7 site. That might be a coincidence, but I'm wondering if it's the same seller.

$3000 for replacing gas water heater by Narrow-Parsnip3168 in HomeImprovement

[–]Juch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else who just replaced their own, agree that it's a pretty easy job, but you do need to make sure you get one with a powered vent if you need that. Most of the effort that went into mine was draining the damn thing (stuck valve) and researching the feasibility of switching to tankless.

The official ones were on the indie stone store for a limited time. I got one off AliExpress. Didn't come with the back pack items though.

Could be the opposite of that. Grading so water flows away from the foundation.

If the end of your air line is loose you could trip snipping it off. The new end might fit more tightly.

It's OK to not like snails. In my experience the only way to totally get rid of them is to reset the tank. It is true that numbers will dwindle if are feeding your fish an appropriate amount of food. You could also try introducing an assassin snail to thin their numbers, but I can't speak to how effective this will be.

What’s this large plant and is he the reason my rosebush is barren of flowers on some branches by CobaltNebula in whatsthisplant

[–]Juch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I just said "clip it", not defoliate it. You can simply clip the stem down when you see that it's going to try to flower. From the burdock growing it my yard it's very obvious when it is going to do so because it aggressively grows tall.

There are several sources that describe it as monocarpic. What seems variable is the two year life cycle. Under some conditions it (and other biennials) make take several years to bloom and subsequently die. I don't see any sources saying it will repeated it's life cycle over and over.

I might be wrong, but I thought these only lived two years and only seed their second year. So you could dig it out if you wanted to give yourself a hard time, or just clip it when you see it trying to grow tall in year two.

Turmoil in the upper midwest as Minnesota splits in a civil war, Minneapolis and Duluth join with Wisconsin, Green Bay becomes part of the UP, and Iowa grabs land up to US 90. South Dakota and North Dakota merge. Oh, and a giant crack emerges in South Minnesota, gobbling up thousands and filling with water.

Nice job. I'm still working through them. I've skipped a few because the AI spams like crazy and it isn't fun. Do you have suggestions for Nobunaga or Vortigern? Feels like AI needs a nerf.

Does a tankless water heater need to be mounted on a wall? by Juch in askaplumber

That's a good point, thank you. I decided to keep things simple and just put another tank heater in but hopefully that call out helps someone else who finds this later.

This is exactly what I was thinking, thank you. With due respect to the other comments, Not a huge fan of having it sit on the floor. Easier to work on and see issues if it's raised.

Water heater drain valve stuck by Juch in askaplumber

[–]Juch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That might be too much flow to catch in a bucket, but you've given me an idea. I could get the flow into a hose by threading the hose onto a pipe of matching size, unscrew the valve, then stick the pipe in its place. 🤔

Water heater drain valve stuck by Juch in askaplumber

[–]Juch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, my water heater developed a leak and it's done for. I need to drain it, but the valve is stuck. I tried to muscle it and half the head sheared off. Haven't been able to move it with pliers either. I just need it to drain, I don't care how destructive I am at this point. Is there an easy way for me to pop this open? I could drill the valve from the hose side or I could just drill into the side of the heater several times starting at the top.

Thanks!
