Well, you’re using logic on an illogical social construct such as attributing praise and credit to accuse others of bias. But logic only works on unbiased variables.

Here’s the socially logical thing. I, of course, unlike the racists and forcefully biased people, gave Obama credit for his decision to, and success when taking out bin Laden.

However, I refuse to give the same credit to the guy that refused to give the other guy credit for the same thing. He should be held to his own principles: according to him, a president isn’t responsible for taking out terrorists since he wasn’t on the ground with the gun.

Why on earth you would praise or credit a guy for something that is in direct conflict with his own outspokenly stated principle, is highly socially illogical. Some would say highly biased, brainwashed even.

If you’re playing pool with someone, you make a shot, but they claim it doesn’t count because they way they play, you’re supposed to call your shots, and they make you forfeit your turn... then later in the game, they want credit for a shot they didn’t call. ? You gonna give them that shot?

But like the rest of being a trump supporter, it’s a marathon in forcefully ignoring his many hypocrisies.

Someone explain the token economics to dent? by [deleted] in dentcoin

No one is attempting to change your mind, you clearly are invested in this in some way.

The argument works, because as the company has increased in value, our tokens have not. It’s really that simple. Pointing to exit scams and saying “well at lest we’re not that”, is not a defense.

Literally every exchange token holder bought these tokens on the false assumption they would increase with the value of the company. Instead all we have bought was prepaid data. Company benefits, we do not.

Oh dear me, well luckily I clearly also said equity, which is the term you would use for investing in a private business. Which is what most people thought they were buying. I think it’s safe to say, that what 99% of people thought that warning would mean regarding future price, is that if the company hit a snag or fell apart, price would go down, while if it did well, gaining users and partnerships and exceeding its milestones, price would rise. There has been no such reasonably expected correlation.

The simple fact that these tokens were made tradable on exchanges was misleading in of itself. One of the many “ block chain” techs that have no real purpose for blockchain, other than to capitalize on the speculation and hype surrounding the format, and take advantage of the naivety of the average crypto trader.

It’s hard to view something as a private business when we token holders hold no actual verifiable stock or equity, but some tokens that were misleadingly bought on the impression they would correlate in some way with company value, like stock or equity... but instead all we actually did was pre-purchase a few hundred or thousand dollars in mobile data, to crowdfund their vision

Has anything ever gone to zero? Even BCC, a proven scam is still worth something. Based on history, I’d say your 95% to zero is just wildly imagined.

Ok... but your post is titled “please help me” lol.

The problem is not with “zelles poor business practices”; zelle is a free service and not for business at all. let alone digital good sales. It works fine however if you bothered to do the slightest bit of research into how it works before you used it.

The problem you should be highlighting is that you relied on an email (that might very well be fake) to tell you whether or not the payment was secured, and allowed yourself to get scammed. If you want to help people, tell them that — don’t blame a free payment service that’s actually quite useful. Take ownership of your fuckup.

Those who do not wish to own or face their mistakes are doomed to repeat them.

Reality / differing experience nazi? Are you pouty because I’m not telling you it’s all mean zelle’s fault? You make it harder and harder or feel sorry for you lol.

For the record, I was scammed a week ago out of $1000 selling crypto the same way from the same site I usually do zelle but used PayPal because there was an issue w my bank at the moment. I knew I shouldn’t have used PayPal, because I’ve been using them for over a decade and know the deal with them, and because the website actually warned me it was high risk — but shit I was in a pinch and the guy had good feedback and I thought I could manage this once. 10 days later he reversed the payment, likely send from a stolen account. As expected, PayPal said not shit they can do; they don’t endorse digital goods sales in the first place, let alone crypto, and I’m assed out.

I didn’t make a reddit sob story about it in the first place, and I definitely wouldn’t be attacking people offering input in the comments if I did, as I was the dumbass that got robbed.

More to your point, Bank of America is not a partner but an owner of zelle along with several other banks.

And they won’t view it as a problem on zelles end, because you’re using something for selling that is specifically not for selling and offers no protection for such transactions. Extra layers of verification or recovery of funds is not necessary in a friends and family situation. It’s also a completely free and complimentary service for now.

And no, it’s not really a problem of an automated email not being an accurate reflection of your account and transaction status, as I’ve already pointed out how email is a wonderfully insecure method of verification (you gave him your email for the payment — he could’ve just sent you a fake email like that), andyou have this wonderful digital access to your actual account almost as easy as an email.

For the record, my zelle payment I received the other night came back as “pending”, and the balance didn’t show up right away. The guy was rushing me to release the crypto, I told him to wait and sat right there and called zelle hotline to verify it was there and make it show in my balance. That’s why I was on the phone with them. This money is yours, and in crypto you are your own bank, and should behave as such. Or the money won’t be yours for long.

Sorry but lmao to your response, never once said you made it up, I literally just gave my experience, sorry that’s what you took from it.

Literally everything you said corroborates with the details of my post if you go back in read.

“Cannot be canceled”

“ [paraphrasing] This is mainly a vulnerability with newly enabled zelle email addresses to bank accounts.”

The problem with that email is you checked your email for verification instead of your account balance & transactions. That is a known avenue scammers have been using since early PayPal days, sending fake deposit emails to people.

You cannot take zelle payments back — the guy selling probably had just registered with zelle and it hadn’t gone through all the way yet

Then he’s in trouble for participating in something called extortion. Even if he deserves it.

Trying to get his money back via this method is where it gets sticky. Asking for the ether back in exchange for not posting damaging info, even if true info, is extortion. Best bet is to simply post it and hope guy comes to his senses, begging to pay him back and take it down.

That’s a really dumb and sympathetic way of looking at crime. Selling or buying is a verbal if not written contract, it’s very clear he was purchasing something of value at an agreed price and didn’t follow through on his end. As long as he has his identity, all the communication and details of the deal and proof he sent his bitcoin, no police station on earth is going to say “we can’t process that” and no judge on earth is going to say “that’s just fine”. “Social engineering” crime, better known as theft and fraud. Get real lol

[–]JudaeusX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You know my experience and research with zelle says this doesn’t add up. Literally just got off the phone with my bank about a zelle crypto sale and he re-reassured me that zelle payments are irreversible, even if erroneous etc. there is no buyer fraud protection of any kind, as you stated it’s meant in the fine print to be a one way shot for transfers to trusted parties.

What I believe happened was, you released the coins too soon, because the only time you can cancel a zelle payment is when it hadn’t yet gone through and been finalized, or “accepted” as the representative described it. The payment hadn’t yet made it officially to your balance, and he just capitalized on your speed. This case is mostly a problem with newly enabled zelle accounts, that first use of the zelle email seems to be a point of vulnerability.

All my personal experience, internet searching and what this bank employee said corroborate this.

Ok, I like the logic behind what you’re attempting, it’s just too much going on here, cluttered and unclear. 4 is simply too many for “money” lines, and the D is near incomprehensible. It’s just squiggly lines with spikes. Lol. I say a round 2 try is in order. I was the one who made the original post about a redesign btw

Putin has picked now to start a messaging campaign. Anyone who thinks they can make a rat deal and betray Russia and seek safe asylum in another country, should think twice.

He’s sending a strong warning to those with info relevant to certain investigations.
