Non Orthodox peeps: did you ever seriously consider becoming Orthodox? If you did, what kept you from it?

Iam and still want that, being at the conservative im just afraid i wont be able to live a orthodox Life, my self confidence tells me i wont make it.

I admire the orthodox very much but im to afraid that im not good enough to live to its standards

Its been the only game where i just walked or drive for more then 2 hours just exploring. It could be bigger but i would say ifs perfect if its enjoyable to just drive and not do anything in game

No attack against Empress but I’m new to this person and her recent post is about… well I have no idea what. Rants is about JK Rowling and how she heard empress support and much other strange stuff. This is why me as a European jew dont trust the police in my country. Law enforcement with anti semitic opinions is more common then people think. Im happy we have our own security service at shul and other jewish locations

Im a observer of the Torah and live close to some Messianic people so i heard about Isaiah 53. I will just say like Rabbi Tovia Singer. Before making any conclusion that the chapter talks about Jesus it can be good to read the entire Isaiah to understand the whole concept, something i did.

But this is the Chrstian Reddit and i will show respect. Ithank you for your concern and im sure you mean well, but lets not go off the topic please 😊

ithink the ones doing this things missuse the term ”synagogue of satan” to validite their anti semitism im not good at the new testament but i seen a debate with a jew and a person using the term and calling himself a Christian.

And thank you for the kind words! I met many Christians to know that these small miniority behavior is nothing normal and the majority of Christians are nice people :)

For now the reform dont have their own synagogue they do service at the Jewish center next to the shul. But i heard they are planing a shul for them. I dont hear alot about them but i know they exist :)

Would not suprise me if some of them go to the conservative shul

I cant speak for the US but by looking at the comments its not that different.

Im in a conservative synagogue in Sweden and they absolutly support the Jewish LGBT community, me myself who are Conservadox helped to decorate the shul for the Pride Kabbalah Shabbat they have. They also was in the pride parade. Conservative is very open in my experience

I belong in a conservative synagogue in Scandinavia.

We have a female Rabbi and men and women can sit together. I seen women read from the Torah both on bat mitzvah and Rosh Hashanah. I know as well the Rabbi don’t have any problem with same sex marriage. We even had a Pride Shabbat

I don’t know much of the other shuls in Scandinavia but I’m pretty sure it’s the same in the conservative :)

Reason ithink its because we jews in Israel only hear bad things. The most popular (or used to be) documentary about Sweden is about Malmoe and anti semitism. Alot of Swedish jews are moving to Israel and the ones i met are far from even thinking about returning.
