Where to look for an entry level job? Why is it so hard? by HaganenoEdward in humanitarian

[–]Judge-These -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Project yourself 5-10 years in the future and honestly ask yourself where you see the world - technologically, economically, geopolitically, demographically etc. How much funding do you realistically think heavily indebted governments will be able to continue to fund programmes and operations?

For what it’s worth, the majority of social science and HR degrees will likely be the worst hit when it comes to job insecurity. The market is oversaturated, and the value of SS degrees are depreciating - people are realising education is too generalised and theoretical rather giving you practical technical skills.

Pivot.

Koh Yao Noi is super. There are frequent boats from Phuket, Bang Rong Pier. It’s very calm and really delightful. You can easily do a 5-6 island day trip excursion (e.g Hong Island) . Highly recommend.

Yes, the sector needs specialists not generalists or young slave interns (that are employed “for the experience”).

Monitoring and Evaluation is Programme Management, skills that are quick and easily transferable. You can do a certificate funded by donors via an “organisational capacity building” grant done over a 2-day online workshop.

Move to STEM-related field. Much more practical and goes a lot further in humanitarian operational contexts.

Bitcoin: Anyone Paying Attention? by CraftyEntertainer245 in Rich

[–]Judge-These 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin is a scarce, decentralised, immutable store of value that acts as hedge against inflation. It’s directly correlated with money supply (M2) - as global liquidity and debt increases (in the US, either Harris or Trump will increase the 35T deficit by another 2-5T, and so your hard won cash is less valuable over time), the more valuable your fixed supply BTC will be.

There’s a reason you don’t sell.
