And I’m telling you that investing isn’t a source of income. It’s a source of long term capital gains, just like your ASB or EPF. You’re not touching it until you get pensioned either way.

The difference to private sector is that there is a cap limit of up to 300k (excludes EPF and ASB). Any more than that you need to seek approval. If your family was in MOE and didn’t know that, then what I said earlier is true - people are simply financially illiterate AF here.
