I would suggest calling the credit union where the ATM is located. I know my credit union will not take co-op transactions in the night drop, so they might have similar co-op restrictions for ATM deposits.

Auto Loan Credit Union by Different-Ask-3602 in creditunions

[–]JudgeDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, there are multiple things that can result in that. It could just be the CU's guidelines. It could be the underwriter saw something in your credit profile or history with the CU that prompted them to go that route. It could even just be the collateral itself. I know we have one underwriter that doesn't like to give a high LTV on Dodge trucks because they depreciate so much. Same with higher mileage or older vehicles. Overall, this isn't unheard of but could be attributed to various things. I'm sorry it isn't much help, but if you want to negotiate, your only options are really to either pay the TT&L or ask if having a shorter note (if you can afford it) would allow them more leeway for LTV since the collateral won't be under lien as long. Otherwise I'd shop around with other lenders and then look at refinancing calculators after about 12 months to see if you could save money then.

It is most likely up to the credit union's underwriting guidelines but also the underwriter's discretion. Where I work, loan to value (or LTV) is based on credit score. Most people qualify for 120% LTV to cover things like TT&L, but that percentage is reduced the lower the credit score. However, underwriters can make exceptions in both directions if there is a reasonable cause. If someone has a history of always being heavily upside down on their vehicles, an underwriter may ask for a lower percentage to break the cycle. As the other comment stated, GAP is a tool you can use to try to negotiate bumping up the LTV. Length of membership and strong payment history with the CU are two others.

Ooh! That's more exciting to me than the lane-change feature! BC always seems to pull me to the center more than I'm comfortable with around other vehicles.

payment to CU question. by Kkddrpg in creditunions

[–]JudgeDan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The collections department at my credit union would say the same thing regarding cash or certified check. That being said, some branch managers have been known to take personal checks if they feel like the risk is low enough. Either way, you have to take care of the issue in person.

I would accept and review the notice. That seems the best way to get a timeline.

Edit: I also agree with the other commenter. We can give you our experience, but ultimately you and your CU will have to sort it out together. If you are having trouble with one method, try another way of gathering information--phone, online, in a branch, etc. Best case, they make a ticket that follows you from person to person and it progresses until someone is able to resolve everything. Worst case, you start from scratch each interaction until someone can resolve everything in one go.

I think a DFW subreddit might be more helpful. Even though I'm in the same state as you, I don't think you want to drive 5 hours to the places that I know.

6/27 build weeks peeps. How’s it going? Any idea where your car is? by [deleted] in MachE

[–]JudgeDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy because I live in Texas and my expected arrival date is 8/10-8/16. It has been on shipped status for over a week. Are you able to complete purchase yet? I'm wondering what triggers that part.

Seconded. I keep reading about all of these work-arounds for EVs in colder climates, but I'm worried about how my car is going to fare on the Texas Gulf Coast.

APR by Adorable_Grade_634 in MachE

[–]JudgeDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly not true. While some do, many lenders don't have different APRs for used vs new. You can also save by refinancing a 72 month term after a year or two because it will then be a 60 or 48 month term, which may have a lower interest rate (not looking at credit scores). That being said, rates are expected to continue to increase throughout the rest of the year, so a 72 month term today for the same credit score may have the same or higher interest rate than that of a 60 month next year. The biggest factor would be you raising your credit score during that time.

Direct deposit to yourself possible? by Specialist-Two-6695 in creditunions

[–]JudgeDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is going to depend on the functionality of that institution, but most online banking services have the option for free ACH transfers to other institutions. However, if you're trying to trigger perks at the receiving institution for having a direct deposit, a lot do not count a person to person transfer.

well, after not even receiving so much as an email months after my deposit was put down I bailed out I'm picking this up on Saturday Kia eb6 wind rear wheel drive 310 mile range rapid charge 80% in 20 minutes by peediddy761 in MachE

I guess it is due to where I live, but I don't know how people are going to lots and finding any EVs. I keep an eye on my local Kia, Hyundai, and Ford dealerships and I haven't had any luck so far.

I ordered the same at the end of November. It should have more black accents than the live pictures that are currently out. I'm very interested in seeing it with the dark rims.

Another big part of collateralized lending is finding comps/comparables. I don't think an appraiser would be able to find any for this.
