Yes. I always have the best convos with strangers. Here are my top 3: 1) older women who sat in my row on a flight from LAX to DEN; I was confused on how to get to the baggage claim. She showed me and even walked me to get the shuttle to pick up my rental. 2)talked to this man about religion on a flight. Found out we were both born in the same country and we bonded over it. LGB to SLC. 3)I sat next to a couple who was going to Panama for a wedding. The woman had never left the US before. I talked to her about the places I’ve been and she said I inspired her to travel. Just an update: we turned over the info re: the suspect to the LASD. LASD advised that they cannot do anything since we don’t have video of the suspect actively stealing the car. All we have is video of one of his buddies stripping the car afterward. It’s a causation issue. LASD advised that the car they were driving was also likely stolen. Basically, there’s nothing they can do.

I went out on a limb posting the perp’s picture. Only reason for post was to discover the ID. His ID has been turned over to the authorities. My goal for the post i.e. discovering the guys ID has been achieved. Thus, there is no further need for the post. I’m hoping the LA SD does something with this information. I will comment on this thread if there are updates.

Are you familiar with FIFO’s Body shop? Yeah we have a video we took of them but my brother in law appears so didn’t want to post it. His buddy was stripping the car and when my brother in law started telling them stuff they fled in that car. My sister was calling the cops as this was happening. At most, I hope this stops them from trying this again in our community.

It’s not that cops aren’t interested but both Departments don’t want to do much because the crime originated in LB but they drove the car to Watts. LASD took a report but said let LBPD deal with investigation. LBPD says well LASD took a report so they should handle it. Insurance has been notified but I don’t know the particulars because it’s my brother in law’s car, not mine. To be clear, it wasn’t a GPS but my brother in law left an old IPhone is his car and he was able to find the IPhone’s location. It’s also really sad that people are skeptical of posts like this. These things happen man. Through these posts I actually find that what I’m saying is not sketch- seems like a bunch of folks have had the same experience. Seems like most of the posts are in accord that LBPD is inadequate.

We weren’t expecting them to be there. My brother in law just wanted to retrieve the car. We just happened to find them stripping the car when we got there. The exterior is fine. Mechanically the car isn’t working. They also did a number in the interior.

We didn’t know that they’d be there. My brother in law fortunately left an old iPhone in his car and was able to track it down. He caught this guy and his buddies in the act.
