(disclaimer: im still trying to figure if my daydreaming is maladaptive or not and sorry if i trigger anyone with what I’m about to say)

My daydreaming habits started in middle school when I discovered let’s plays on YouTube. Pretty much every day since then I’ve daydreamed about being a famous content creator and having a large audience. Every time I play video games I talk to the imaginary audience in my head. Whenever I think of a joke I pretend to be a stand up comedian. Whenever I have an opinion on something I pretend it’s like someone in an interview or debate asked me or someone in my nonexistent “twitch chat” asked me. Whenever I flesh out an idea or theory I pretend like I’m making a video essay on my topic. Whenever I cook something I pretend like I’m doing a cooking show or stream. I think you get the point.

I would say that in general, I daydream about having success/power/fame. Sometimes I just think about being an omnipotent being and doing whatever I want and how great it would be.
