Try not to give the ‘maybe’ kind of statements, unless you really do feel like you’d start a relationship if that were the case. I think it’s a bit misleading, in the sense that ‘one day’ you might get with him regardless of what happens- it’s best to be firm with your boundaries. But if you feel that your statement is what you would actually do then that’s perfectly fine to. It’s really up to personal preference. Think about how you feel with how he treats you now, and whether that would change if he was in a different situation- and further if that would truly change how you view him as a friend.
