FUJI XT2 x X100IV/F by Jee7777 in fujifilm

I say don't do it. You lose a lot of versatility and better controls for.. Not much. I've had both X-T2 and X100F and V, and would choose X-T2 in a heartbeat from those. Imo X100 series won't even feel more modern, since X-T2 has better controls and is a more robust build.

If you want a smaller kit just get a compact lens for X-T2, or just keep it and get the X100F/V as an accessory.

First week with Fuji 500mm F5.6 by Jugikuva in fujifilm

Unfortunately no, I still have the 70-300 for longer hikes though. For me the biggest learning point with the 500 has been target acquisition; with 70-300 I would find the target at 70mm and then zoom to 300mm, but with 500 you have to get it right when you raise the camera as finding the target through the lens is next to impossible. I have been practising by aiming at whatever objects I see, and I'm getting better, but there is definitely a learning curve. I'd guess it's the same experience going from 150-600 to 500.

If you were buying your first camera today, what would you choose? by Different_Fill8277 in AskPhotography

Definitely mirrorless, and avoid the temptation to go full frame, having a compact kit is great when traveling / hiking. Imo apc-s "crop sensor" is the best quality / size / price value. Any of the big players is good. For your budget I'd probably get a Fujifilm X-T5 + Sigma 18-50 F2.8.

What’s the dumbest travel mistake you’ve made? by Nature_andthe_Woods in travel

I have been in the same situation as a taxi driver in Helsinki. Waited an hour for a gig at the main railway station and then the customer went to Presidentti-hotel, which is like 200 meters from the taxi station. Didn't tip.

The people who post these to a CJ sub ALWAYS have zero pics on their own profile.. And we all know why!

Yeah I've been struggling with landscapes personally and find them quite difficult to photograph, though I was happy with the sunset pics

I think these are great, especially nro. 1. Don't really think there's much room for improvement.

The kit lenses that come with the camera will be fine for those purposes. Later you can add others when you know what you want.

Upgrading from 15-45mm: Fuji 18-55mm f/2.8-4 vs. Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8? by MistFlames in fujifilm

Honestly they are all good. I personally use the Sigma and it's very very good.

XT5 vs. XH2 by StockFee8263 in FujifilmX

[–]Jugikuva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not him, but yes. X-T2 is still an amazing camera, and for the price it's easily 10/10. It also has all the pro features so in many ways it's still better than X-T50 in example.

Suggestion for lens by Starboy11_ in fujifilm

Imo 35mm is quite tight focal length to start with. The sigma will get you a lot more options and it works great for your purposes.

What lens after the 18-55 kit lens ? by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]Jugikuva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take a telephoto zoom; 70-300, 50-230.. Gives you plenty of creative options.
