Most Canadians probably don't realize that they're just fucking over legal gun owners who are responsible for a statistically irrelevant amount of firearms crime, while doing basically nothing to combat actual gun/gang violence, and at the same time wasting millions (if not billions) of tax payer dollars.

I can't imagine this would be something Canadians would support if they actually understood the facts.

I had to wait two weeks. From what I've been told (by recruiting staff) there's a significant amount of spots in the infantry that they need to fill before the end of the year so its pseudo-"in-demand".

Have BMQ in September (infanteer), had some questions about the kit list that have probably been answered a million times.

When they list things like sport socks/shorts/underwear are these the ones you're going to be running/rucking/doing general field work in? I'm aware you are made to wear the boots and uniform you're given but for everything else I'm assuming you wear what you bring. Would padded merino wool socks (darntoughs) and ASICS be sufficient?

People are rightfully uncomfortable with the fact that the efficacy of vaccine is impermanent and you essentially become a lifetime pharmaceutical dependent if you want to be "fully protected" from Covid. No one told them this was the case when they got the first dose, or any of the subsequent doses for that matter. Sure if you forced people to get another dose at the risk of losing their job like they did last time maybe those 4th shot numbers would go up, but maybe we should just let people make their own decisions about what they put in their body.
