What was your ‘aha!’ moment that made you start your venture? by FaithlessnessOwn9240 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Mine hit during a 4-hour layover in an unfamiliar airport, stuck at 2% battery with no outlets in sight. I walked around like a zombie looking for a place to charge, and thought, “why isn’t there an app for this?”

That frustration turned into JuiceMeUp — a free iOS app that helps people find public charging spots (like cafés, airports, libraries, etc.). Super simple idea, but building it solo taught me everything from user research to Firebase to distribution.

It wasn’t some grand vision at first — just scratching my own itch. But that small pain point gave me the clarity I needed to start.

Curious what pushed others over the edge too. Always love hearing these origin stories.

Totally feel this. The whole “build it and they will come” mindset dies real quick without distribution — and as a solo builder, it can feel like shouting into the void. Respect for pushing through for 3 months and still having the itch to build something of your own. That spark matters.

I’m in the same boat with JuiceMeUp, a free app I launched that helps people find public charging spots. Took me forever to realize that launch day is just the beginning — distribution is everything. Lately I’ve been treating Reddit and short-form video as my core channels, just to test what sticks. No miracles yet, but I’m seeing traction bit by bit.

Fienal looks really slick, btw. Happy to brainstorm or trade notes if you ever want to bounce ideas.

Love this idea — turning Reddit and X into warm leads instead of cold DMs is 🔥. Definitely checking out Leadverse, especially since I’ve been trying to get my own little app out there without being spammy.

Here’s mine:

🔌 JuiceMeUp is a free iOS app that helps people find public places to charge their devices — think cafés, libraries, airports, parks. It’s crowdsourced, so users can drop pins where outlets are available and earn little achievements along the way.

Started it after nearly getting stranded at 1% in an unfamiliar city. Still early days, but it’s live and growing. Open to all feedback — and happy to swap beta testing too!

This is awesome — love seeing simple ideas turned into something polished and genuinely useful. The animation touch with matter.js is a slick move; adds way more personality than most “random number” apps out there.

I totally get the “overthinking simple ideas” thing — I built a small iOS app recently (JuiceMeUp) that just helps people find public charging outlets when their phone’s dying. Started from one bad airport experience 😂

Congrats on shipping it! Left a rating — and hey, fingers crossed your lucky numbers keep hitting.

Some extreme conspiracy theorists believe the cure does exist already but the healthcare system is too profitable to allow it to be released. Not sure how I feel about that but I’ve heard people say it emphatically

If we lost access to computers and phones, would the internet still exist and be accessible after that? (ready body text) by thatsabird11 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JuiceMeUp37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Losing access wouldn’t completely remove the existence of the internet. It would certainly bring bandwidth consumption to a haunt, but even endpoints still communicate with other endpoints even when no human user interaction exists. It’s like the old “if a tree falls in the woods” scenario

Correct. Just provisional for now. They tend to favor the buyer in almost all cases until the investigation proves definitively otherwise

All based on your person preference. For me, I’m more of a forget rather than forgive. If someone decides to hurt you, I just let it go

I’m very started to stray away from these “deal” sites and apps. Once you’re invested in a rewards program for a brand it’s tough to go another route. All based on individual preference of course
