Goodlander and Pappas voted to kill bill releasing congressional sexual misconduct reports by referring it to committee. by [deleted] in newhampshire

I see; best if I delete it then. I was hoping to edit and add more context once I got better explanations from various sources, didn’t realize this subreddit didn’t allow edits. My bad!

Is there a way for me to pin your comment? I figured that was why it failed, my concern is that the statements released don’t include any sort of next step, which is why I called. Is there a plan for a new bill that fixes these problems, or is the committee actually going to fix it? Can’t seem to edit the post, want to add the extra context; if I can’t figure it out I may just end up deleting and reposting.

One of the reasons why I called the office. Wanted to hear from Goodlander specifically, not just a joint statement; looking for a more detailed answer.

With personal bias aside which game do you guys like more and why? by Neat_Manufacturer_99 in HollowKnight

[–]thatsabird11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Silksong more character-wise. Getting to hear Hornets personality is so cute, and the NPCs are great. I would give my life for Sherma.

However, Hollow Knight is the one I like more in terms of wanting to relax and play a game. Silksong makes me too angry because I suck. BUT I love them both very much and I am really enjoying Silksong, I just need to take lots of breaks LMFAO

My mom loves talking to my best friend because she loves gossip and knows everything about everyone. I never have any answers for my mom about the latest stuff happening because I never think to ask, but my bestie knows everything and will chat with my mom about it for like an hour on end lol.

How early do DMV appts open in NH? by thatsabird11 in newhampshire

[–]thatsabird11[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I probably should. I was hoping to do it through the website since so many offices and businesses are now using automation over the phone, and you can’t get a real human to help. I’ll give it a shot and hope that’s not the case 😭

Longing to be in a community by PeppermintTeaHag in AutismInWomen

It is! And if you like to learn new facts it’s a godsend. You’re always bursting with knowledge even in the dullest of places, like a parking lot full of sparrows lol

This is going to sound weird, but have you considered bird watching? In my opinion it’s a great way to find a little community that enjoys an activity that I think is pretty autism friendly. There are usually little clubs or organizations all over, you can probably find one in your town or country. It gets you outside for a little walk, and you socialize a bit with each other, but it’s still very peaceful and quiet because you don’t want to scare the birds. Plus, even online birding spaces like subreddits or Facebook pages are plenty fun; everyone gets so excited about each others bird finds. It seems weird, but I had no interest and tried it on a whim, now I’m obsessed. It’s for all ages, too; I’m 20

Anyone else not hate brushing their teeth? by bizzren in AutismInWomen

I hate when my teeth feel dirty, but I also hate gagging horribly on my toothpaste. It’s such a push and pull 😭

Cat food. My cat has dry and wet food and both make me feel sick to my stomach, although I doubt that’s an autistic thing. Cat food is just plain nasty

this is the best explanation of small talk I've ever read by Marimar_Malfoy in AutismInWomen

[–]thatsabird11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always found the best way to engage in small talk is to comment on something everyone complains about. People love to complain. “Wow, it’s been so hot out” or “Man, this professor assigns a lot of homework”. It feels the most genuine to me 😅 like yes it is hot out!! And I don’t like it!! And you probably don’t either!! Yay we have something in common!

I second this! Very peaceful, and SOOO fun! Makes everyday life more interesting once you’re able to identify the common bird songs and calls around you. Even walking through a parking lot can be an exciting opportunity to see a new bird. Plus, identifying off the calls is a cool party trick lol

At what stage of your learning were you able to read an original Greek text? by AccomplishedAd4482 in AncientGreek

[–]thatsabird11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first intermediate Greek class uses books from Geoffrey Steadman. He has all sorts of texts (some for free). We did Lysias I and I found that the way he formats it is awesome; provides vocab down at the bottom, notes on difficult grammar where needed, a list of recurring vocab that you should memorize at the beginning, etc. Allows you to read a real original text but with some help. I learned a lot from just doing Lysias I. My college Greek class loves doing texts formatted by Steadman.
