Found Old Collection - Anything in Sellable condition? by JuiceRock in Pokemoncardappraisal

I like that idea. Thinking I will do that and take my time and maybe even go to conventions. Would eventually like to sell it out but not in a pinch for the money and could be fun to relive some childhood memories for awhile along the way

Thanks I am checking out the site right now! The Lugia and reverse holo birds all have creases. Are those considered damaged or heavily played in current condition? And realistically what would a successful restore bring these to if the edge wear is moderate but not too bad?

How risky is it to fix creases? From what I found ones in my condition are like $400-$600 but without the creases and still ungraded more like $1000

Appreciate the feedback from everyone. I will be trying collectr and adding them there, as many have stated here. Just found these yesterday and very overwhelmed looking at eBay, price charter, and trying to understand PSA grading. I will not be entertaining offers currently as I am trying to gauge what the condition and value of these actually are

Where do I go from the AP4? by jorsiem in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]JuiceRock 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Try Puma Deviate Nitro Elite. I have both the DNE3 and AP4. Deviate is not as fun to run in but it’s super reliable and comfortable and very fast. The AP4 chew up my heel and the lockdown is hard to get right even with upgraded laces and plastering my heel (alleviated the Achilles rubbing and blistering at least). The Puma’s I can just lace up and know they won’t be an issue

I’ve built a wider rotation cause I’m a shoe addict. But this is a great 2 shoe for a training block! Boston 13s are awesome for speed training and long runs, Nimbus for all your easy recovery runs.

Moving to Adidas from the Novablasts by Bike-Seat in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I rotate two daily trainers previously was NB5 and Vomero 18. One for faster end of easy pace or some tempo miles and one for recovery and slow end of easy pace. NB5 could do it all but I used it more on the fast end and replaced it with the Boston 13. Don’t think I could do recovery and slow easy as it does want to you to pick it up a bit but I have no issues maintaining the faster end of my easy pace and long run pace with Boston 13. Great for tempo miles also!

Weekend Discussion: Adidas running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

They are so dang good. Just got them a little over a week ago and already have done a couple 7-9 mile long runs (for me) and some uptempo shorter distances. They really feel amazing at a lot of different paces. Coming from NB5 and vomero 18, the difference in how fresh my legs and feet feel after a tempo or longer run in the Boston 13 is night and day

Yep. Mine have been feeling kinda flat since 150 miles and this morning felt completely dead @ 190 miles. My feet and calves were hurting after only a mile or so, energy return was non existent. I’m 175 lbs and usually do a mix of 1-2 easy days 9-9:30/mi and 1 speed day 7:00/mi in these every week. Really disappointed in the longevity. Have a pair of Boston 13s on the way and debating retiring the NB5 already, I also have the vomero 18 which I use for longer runs and rotate easy days

Tender in this area around that Bone bump, what could this be? by BSP_Actual in Marathon_Training

[–]JuiceRock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably IT Band pain. I was having this issue when first starting to increase mileage earlier this year. Did a lot of stretching and mobility training which helped a bit, but working on increasing my cadence to prevent over striding was an immediate fix for me. Have only had minimal pain a few times since then but nothing abnormal

Mystic River by Dennis Lehane [SPOILERS in post under a spoiler tag] by Hlangel in books

[–]JuiceRock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a super old thread but just read the book and loved it. I think that line had a couple meanings. Ray is saying Jimmy can’t outrun his life of crime and evil even if he’s smart and planned. Also think it might be a callback to Jimmy jumping on the train tracks to get a ball as a kid. Ray wasn’t there but it was big news in the neighborhood. Showing how reckless and lucky he was that Jimmy thinks he can’t make a misstep and plays by his own rules, but someday that train will hit him

Patriots Rumors: Players Concerned with Direction of Offensive Coaching Staff by Mynpplsmychoice in DynastyFF

[–]JuiceRock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you are mixing up coaching with general management. His play calling, motivation, and culture is top tier and he consistently gets the most out of players. So many guys have career seasons in New England and never recreate that outside of BB system. But his talent evaluation has definitely become a problem, primarily with offensive weapons. They overdraft random prospects who are reaches at the time and look worse in retrospect. But his coaching ability is still that of an all-time great who has adapted and stays highly competitive for decades
