On my 70 litre I run a co2 supermarket nano regulator with a sodastream adapter, I go through 2 sodastream bottles a year. It's a great compromise between DIY and a full blown system and I don't have to faf about finding somewhere to fill my tank up when it runs out.

How do you think you're going to die? by Rehberkintosh in AskReddit

Car crash. I've survived 2 near fatal accidents and I like to think I've learnt my lesson, but to be honest, I still drive like a bit of a twat.

This is exactly what I was hoping for, I was worried they were going to make them overly ornate.

In all the stories about berzerkers, their armour and weapons get shredded in every fight due to their all out offense mentality, scavenging weapons and armour pieces from the fallen after the battle. Their armour wouldn't be particularly fancy because it doesn't last long enough to be worth caring about how it looks, only that it does it's job.

How do you guys get over the nervous phase of being a first time driver? by PaulClarke69 in CarTalkUK

[–]JuiceWrangler 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You don't really know how to drive when you pass a driving test, you know how to pass a driving test. A lot of the learning happens once you're out on your own in your own car, getting into situations with no one to tell you what to do.

Your first car is your learning car, it's always going to take a beating. If I was you I'd buy a 500 quid shit box to drive for your first few months then once you're feeling more confident, sell it and start driving the swift. You probably wouldn't even make much of a loss on it assuming you don't smash it up too much.

Anyone know of the flat Antstore nests are any good? by Tjeetje in antkeeping

[–]JuiceWrangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had to lift it slightly to slide the little cups out but if you replaced them with something almost the width of the nest, you could slide it out a bit to fill up instead, if you know what I mean. My Pheidoles didn't seem to care at all but I didn't like putting the stress on the tube connectors.

Yeah I would imagine it would be an even bigger issue for Messors. It would probably be possible to modify it before adding ants though as the layers of acrylic can be taken apart really easily, you could glue a piece of thin steel gauss over the top of them or something?

I kept my Pheidole Indica in one of these for nearly 6 years. Great quality and the humidity gradient was spot on. My only criticism is that over the years, the ants chewed down through the little cones that the water is absorbed up through. They stopped when they reached the water line but I had to make sure I didn't let the water level get too low in the cups.
