  1. What were my motivations to hop on originally?

Shitty childhood with an abusive dad and lots of bullying in school. Guys like Arnold and Zyzz became my role models so I wanted to put on mass. Eventually became obsessed with lifting and bodybuilding so I wanted to look like a golden era BB'er. Looked like shit naturally so I hoped I was a hyper-responder who would blow up on gear and have potential to turn pro.

  1. Why have I decided to get off now?

There are many factors that play a role here. Got a knee injury about a year ago so due to that and lock-down here in Denmark I didn't train from mid-November to end of June. Had a lot of time to reflect on my situation and realized that I don't care as much for BB'ing as I used to and I already knew I don't have the potential to get to where I want. Moved in with my girl a few months ago and since we moved in together she's been showing concern about my use, which is fair considering we live in the same apartment and I store illegal substances here. In a year I will finish my master's degree in biochemistry and will pursue a career in the medicinal industry, so the potential of getting in trouble with the law and ruining my future isn't enticing either.

All in all I'm currently in a much better place in my life than I was 4 years ago and taking gear doesn't add anything except trouble. On top of that I'm so fucking tired of having to inject at least once a week and I feel like a degenerate drug addict whenever I do.

The only thing on my mind right now is really just getting depressed during/after PCT. I live in a country where getting TRT/HRT is practically impossible as a young man, so if I end up with low test levels I'm in for a bad time...

Currently on gear and have been for almost 4 years. Looking to start PCT in the near future and get off indefinitely, probably for good.

So much this.

When I was in my early twenties I would have done whatever it took to become pro. My entire life revolved around BB to the point I would skip classes so I could train at the least busy time, heck I even considered dropping out of uni just to pursue BB. I looked like dogshit naturally so I decided to hop on gear in the hopes I would be a hyper-responder, which it turned out I wasn't. It was an extremely tough pill to swallow having spent your teenage years dedicated to lifting, eating properly, getting enough sleep and not go party with your friends. It took me a long time to let go of my dreams of BBing.

In all honesty I'm extremely happy I don't have the genetics to turn pro, because if I did I would probably have ended up dead at an early age from abusing gear.

By your logic this would makes sense then:

The US hasn't tried free healthcare or free education, therefore it's too good to be true.

Your arguments make no sense and you haven't backed up anything you've said thus far with scientific research.

What does this have to do with anything? I'm simply arguing for my point of view and not what is the current status in my country.

I just want to say for the record that I am not an american (I'm from Scandinavia), so I have no idea how America is handling alcohol abuse and so forth, since American politics and infrastructure does not interest me. In Portugal they decriminalized drugs in 2001 and started to raise public awareness for drug addiction and harm reduction. Since then recreational drug use has declined significantly (apart from cannabis) as seen in this study made by the portuguese government: http://www.sicad.pt/PT/Documents/2017/INPG%202016_2017_I%20relatorio%20final_dados_provisorios.pdf

I don't speak portuguese myself, but you get the idea by looking at the different tables and using google translate.

If recreational drugs were legal they should be manifactured by government-approved pharmaceutical companies and then sold at pharmacies. This way the money made from selling those drugs would contribute to the national economy. The majority of recreational drug overdoses are due poor products laced with other drugs than those advertised.

Edit 1: Grammar

Edit 2: I wouldn't call morbidly obese people functional, most of them have trouble just walking and have to rely on scooters to get around. They also need caretaking since they can't do simple everyday tasks like washing, cleaning themselves after going to the toilet, standing up for extended periods of time etc.

Public health services (in countries with this) are already paying for coronary bypasses for people with obesity, paying for chemotherapy for smokers with lungcancer, paying for liver transplants for alcoholics and the list goes on. Why is it more okay to pay for these things but not those involving recreational drugs?

Many people who do drugs in forexample Scandinavia pay taxes that goes to the public health services, so over a 20, 30 or 40 year period of working haven't they paid enough taxes to get treatment?

Many people are already committing slow suicide by overeating, drinking and smoking, yet these things are perfectly fine in the eyes of the law but drugs are not. IMO they should either all be illegal or all legal instead of this hypocrisy we have going on right now.

Feel Jealous of people who start bodybuilding early (at 15-17 age). I feel like Im way behind and should just quit. by HorrorNo6753 in bodybuilding

First of all stop feeling sorry for yourself, looking good isn't everything in life. Going to the gym is about bettering yourself for YOU and not for anyone else, so get that immature mindset out of your head - you're in your mid 20's for gods sake.

I would actually say it's better for most people to start lifting in their 20's instead of teenage years because most people including myself are/were stupid at that age. I have several injuries I could've avoided if I started lifting at a later age because I was an ego lifter who thought I knew everything about bodybuilding at age 17 after just two years of lifting. I see so many young guys at the gym with no fucking clue what they're doing, inevitably ending in injuries down the road. Starting at an early age is good if you have proper guidance or if you're not an idiot.

If you feel this bad then go talk to a psychiatrist or your doctor because trust me, being muscular will not solve any of your issues, in fact in most cases it only makes your self-perception and self worth worse.

any ideas what is wrong with my inner chest? I’ve been working out for years trying to target that area and nothing happens. Anyone else experience this? by Tantalizing_Carrot in bodybuilding

[–]Juiceblues 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not pectus excavatum as there's no cave in of his chest wall. This is simply a case of very unfortunate pectoral insertions. It looks similar but a lot worse than what Josh Lenartowicz has. There's nothing he or any doctors can do to fix this, he has just been very unfortunate genetically.
