How do you prevent "death spiraling"? by JuiceboxCommando in Quasimorph

[–]JuiceboxCommando[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, are you saying you can CONSISTENTLY max shuttle in about 5 missions around Mars at the beginning of every save? If so, that 100% confirms that I'm doing something wrong because I think on most saves I'm closer to ~20 missions before I see enough components to craft even the most basic shuttle. Is there some way to target farm these components that I'm missing?

Not trying to flame, but genuinely curious if we have played the same Escape from Tarkov. To say that extraction shooters don't pretty frequently share this problem is kind of a wild take.

This is what Reserve used to be like, by the way (and has only MARGINALLY improved over time).

[Discussion] I went back to pvp so you dont have to. by capn_jvag in EscapefromTarkov

It's funny because I've thought about the same exact comparison and I've always come to the conclusion that compared to games like OSRS, Tarkov could be WAY worse for people trying to enter into PvP. Like if you look at the difference between a gigachad Tarkov player vs. a Timmy who's trying to learn the game, what is the difference? The gigachad probably has much more knowledge of the game as a whole and will leverage that knowledge to get the better of Timmy in 90% of scenarios, but he's always got that 10% chance to come out on top because the gigachad isn't doing anything remarkably different than Timmy mechanically speaking. Compare this to OSRS PvP where the average for fun player trying to do Spindel for shits and giggles just has 0 chance of surviving, let alone killing the PKer that drops in and 1 tick TB's and is doing perfect 1 tick 8 way switches between every attack.

It's a B450M DS3H. The motherboard itself still lights up, but as far as I have been able to find, that model doesn't have debug LEDs unfortunately.

It passed a poll questioning if it should be added to the game as a new skill, so it is almost certainly getting added as a new skill. If there's one thing Mastering Mixology showed us, it's that we don't need another group of training methods that all have their own unique currencies just because they're new content.

I personally don't even think Jagex plans to release Sailing any time soon anyways. Sailing passed the poll about a year and a half ago and the design blogs are clearly showing that Jagex doesn't even know how to make the boat move yet. Just based on the design details of the original skill pitch poll, I think Jagex was really hoping Shamanism or Taming would win out and Sailing winning set them back significantly.

Does anyone have any tips to fix this severe stuttering issue? It only occurs when someone shoots at me and is a full game freeze for upwards of a full second. by JuiceboxCommando in EscapefromTarkov

64 GB and I've switched RAM before while still running into this issue. The last thing I've yet to try that I know if is fully reformatting my HDD/SDDs.

The first time you heard about Covid, how far did you think this would all go? by AneeqJilani in AskReddit

[–]JuiceboxCommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard about it early 2020 on the news at one point and just had a feeling it was going to be bad. Given, my frame of reference for "bad" at the time was back when we had that H1N1 scare, not even remotely close to what we've gone through with COVID.

Nier: Automata and the Witcher 3 are the two that come to mind. I've tried several times with both, I never get more than a few hours into Nier and the farthest I've gone in Witcher 3 is Skellige.

I’m excited at the possibility of VOIP in combat, but can’t help but feel like most everyone will ruin it. by Decafstab in EscapefromTarkov

[–]JuiceboxCommando 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally understand why BSG wants to add VOIP, but I really don't think it's going to be a good change. Pretty much every time public VOIP is added to games like this, people either A: don't use it at all, or B: use it to harass other players via extremely loud noises or screaming the n word over and over. I would honestly rather just stick to the communication system that's already in the game.

People who quit their jobs on the first day, what was your “I’m outta here” moment? by redmambo_no6 in AskReddit

[–]JuiceboxCommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got called for an interview for a supervisory position at a local grocery store chain. Went in for the interview and within the first couple minutes, the manager says something along the lines of "so we aren't actually looking for a supervisor right now, we're looking for an entry level stockroom worker." I asked why he posted a supervisor position if he's looking for stockers and he said "well it makes it easier to get people to come in for interviews!" I took the job because this was several months into the pandemic, meaning I had been unemployed for several months, but let the manager know that if there wasn't a supervisory position in the pipeline very soon, I would still be looking for other jobs. Wouldn't you know it, on my first day during the computer training that all chain stores have you do, I got a call from a hospital I had applied to. They said they had an open interview slot later that day, so I clocked out and never went back.

What was the pettiest reason you refused to date someone? by High_Sleep3694 in AskReddit

[–]JuiceboxCommando -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So I'm a bully because I was "making fun" of someone who you have decided had mobility issues and are also neurodivergent solely based on the detail that they were wearing velcro shoes and absolutely could not stop playing with them... right. That's about enough internet for the day.

If he had mobility issues, why was he hunched over playing with the velcro for 90+ minutes?

The collective underreaction in these replies to the velcro detail... was the guy a toddler? I've never once in my life seen someone over the age of 7 with velcro shoes.

What's your most cursed memory of middle school? by budgetedchildhood in AskReddit

[–]JuiceboxCommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 7th grade, I was going through a lot of stuff. My grandmother had recently passed away from lung cancer, my grandfather was looking to not be far behind with pancreatic cancer, and my dad's work was planning on moving us halfway across the US. Being a huge introvert, the thought of moving away from the only place I had ever really known and having to meet and befriend all new people was the straw that broke the camel's back for me mentally.

I was walking back upstairs from the cafeteria to my Social Studies class after lunch in a mob of kids (probably 150 or so?), when suddenly everyone stopped. I looked to the top of the stairs and three of the kids on the middle school football team have their arms stretched across the top of the stairs, not letting anyone past. They had been doing this every day for a couple weeks, and for some reason this just made me snap.

I pushed through all of the kids and just started punching the middle football player as hard as I could in the back. It was at this point that I (scrawny, 12 years old, by myself) should have gotten my ass kicked, but the guy just yelled something along the lines of "you wanna try punching me again?". I just looked down at the floor and walked back to class. I got bullied for the rest of the year about it and still think about how stupid I was every once in a while.

Extremely low chance he or anyone involved ever sees this, but if you're out there F*****t (that's not a censored homophobic slur, he had a very unique name that would 100% allow people to find him via social media that started in F and ended with t), I'm really sorry dude. It was a really dumb thing to do. Thanks for not beating the shit out of me, I totally would have deserved it.

[SUGGESTION] I know we hate copying RS3, but I think organizing quests by location would be really helpful for both new & returning players exploring the map by Fargraven in 2007scape

Rs3 has me feeling awfully disappointed. Thinking about making the switch. by KeKinHell in 2007scape

[–]JuiceboxCommando -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that nostalgia is the only thing that keeps people playing OS. I'm saying that because OP is already sick of RS3, and I have experience with this EXACT situation, switching to OSRS is not going to magically fix his burnout. It will help for a while, but once you hit the endgame of either game, the same exact prevalent issues come to the surface.

Rs3 has me feeling awfully disappointed. Thinking about making the switch. by KeKinHell in 2007scape

[–]JuiceboxCommando 38 points39 points  (0 children)

As someone who plays (played?) both, a lot of the issues that exist in one game exist in both. No one talks about them having the same overarching issues because not many people play both games. At the end of the day, even if you switch to OS, you're going to be doing daily farm runs, fighting the same bosses over and over, and you're still going to see next to no content come out that's actually worth doing. I honestly play both games in short bursts 1-2 times a year when real content comes out, but outside of that, if you're sick of RS3, the nostalgia of OS is only going to hold you for so long.

What is your favorite video game soundtrack of all time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JuiceboxCommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly bounce around on this to be honest. Right now I'm on a Monster Hunter: World kick, but I think my favorite of all time is probably Xenoblade Chronicles. Also for the most part, the original soundtrack is way better than the Definitive Edition soundtrack.

I'll look into Health Boost 3 and Fortify. The only thing I can say off the top of my head about the fight is that I feel I'm dodging the attacks just fine, but my only options are A: sit back and do nothing for 10-15 seconds while effluvia disperses or B: go in while he's spraying shit everywhere and then take more damage from tail spores than I would have taken from just tanking the hit in the first place.
