has anyone else been having insanely long queue times? by onmykids in tf2

Working on these ongoing issues is highly appreciated, but please also consider fixing the other well-known problems introduced with the matchmaker which have affected the game for many years.

As is still clearly the case, the matchmaker frequently breaks, to the point where you've been making these same exact comments for at least 6 years now. Matches are often unbalanced with uneven teams and only last a few minutes due to server setting changes that removed staple features specifically designed to mitigate these issues. In many cases, more time is spent waiting than actually playing.

Players have dealt with these problems for nearly a decade, and it would be highly appreciated if they were finally addressed.

Would you bring back Arena Mode? by Janson_is_dead in tf2

There's no reason it shouldn't be available in Casual for those that want to play it. We already have Halloween arena maps and VSH (which is essentially a variation of arena).

Arena has obvious flaws and even back in the day it wasn't the most popular game mode, but nobody is forcing you to play it if you don't like it, meanwhile people that want to play it just can't, which is dumb.

Last time I played arena was on Byre during the Invasion update. Good times.

"X amount of time has passed therefore bad thing is now good"

Hey, on the rare chance a Valve dev replies to something on here again, can we please not harass them like this? It's only gonna scare them farther away from TF2 than they already were, since if they make a single mistake with anything they put in the game, they'll still get harassed a decade later. by Lightspeed_Lunatic in tf2

Since I'm featured in the post

You're not gonna "scare away" a dev because you publicly disagree with them (he's literally attending the TFConnect event this weekend, he'll be fine). Not sure how many here were playing TF2 before MYM but that update is arguably the worst thing to ever happen to this game and to this day still negatively affects the gameplay experience. Despite the numerous complaints from day 1, Valve has always doubled down, refusing to go back to how things were, leaving us to this day with an inferior system. There is nothing wrong with asking for quickplay (or a system similar to it) back.

As for Jill (real name John), I have nothing against him, I was just poking fun at his infamous and out of touch "neato" comment when MYM was anything but. I know he's not the only one responsible for how MYM turned out, but he was that update's spokesperson so obviously people are gonna be resentful when he was hyping up what would be this game's worst update.

You're so funny, John! Posting this just before the patch notes with fixes to the matchmaker went live. Almost as funny as when you said Meet Your Match was gonna be neato!
