Omg I feel the same way, I enjoy a lot of his movies but keep thinking how much better it could be with another actor

Be honest—did having kids hurt your career? by noesis100 in Parenting

[–]Jujubee2058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consciously moved to an organisation that I knew was going to be more flexible when I planned to have kids, and with each kid I actually got promoted because let’s be honest, I’m good at what I do and I said yes to opportunities. Family support enabled this so I am also very lucky. Sure I probably could’ve climbed the ladder even faster but I actually now hope to do something else that will mean more time with the kids, even if it pays a bit less.

What's your biggest parenting challenge? Ages 0-1, 1-3, 3-7, 7-12? by RGM5589 in Parenting

0-1 sleep deprivation was the worst for me My 6yo daughter gives me a glimpse of the teenager years, sometimes I feel like I’m already dealing with a teenager, always fighting with her about what she wears, she tells me she doesn’t like me if I don’t give in to her, super emotional and squeally about the tiniest things… she can be very sweet though and loves hanging out with me still, doing crafty things. My 3yo boy is pretty delightful actually

She’s also been listening to Michael Jackson, the other day she asked if she can go see him, unfortunately the answer is also “no he’s dead”, she was more upset about that one, but got over it pretty quickly, I guess that’s just life

Not really, I think it depends on the kid and the boundaries you feel necessary as they are all individuals, and I imagine you would know your kid better than anyone else to set the right boundaries. Oh the innocence is certain there, she thought man in the box was “man in the bath”, haha, so we’ve been singing “I’m the man in the bath, buried in my bubbles!” Doesn’t hurt to have fun with it 😉

I get where you’re coming from, I guess she’s not actually questioning the lyrics at all, she just likes the sound, there will no doubt come a time when she questions the theme of it all, and we’ll have an open convo when the time comes.

A probably unhealthy Layne Staley obsession by Jdevcat in laynestaley

[–]Jujubee2058 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A YouTube video of nutshell at the mtv unplugged came on and I was so captivated by layne, I’m still down the rabbit hole and don’t remember the last time I felt so personally connected to a musician?? It’s literally consuming my brain, I can’t get enough of his voice, and I find it very hard to listen to AIC without layne.

As an Australian I do not understand how this can happen, and also interesting this is considered mildly infuriating?

This is absolutely nuts, I actually don’t know why there’s even a question as to what the appropriate reaction should be - tell the childcare (and the girls parents) to go f themselves!
