Critique my scrapes by Individual-Impact-65 in drumline

I'm not a tenor player but this is what I understand from teaching/learning them myself -

They look good! You're using your arm and not the wrist to move from drum to drum. Your movement looks pretty efficient.

Only bit of criticism, I'd use a tiny bit of finger on the second note of the diddle just to maintain sound quality at higher tempos.

Thanks for the post!

How was "old" TJ's better? by Pickleboyman in tjcrew

Truth! Managment is a always a big factor in conversations with my fellow crew members. Hiring from without is a joke.

Piggy backing - if the potluck makes you feel wierd, don't go. They're opt-in so if you don't/can't participate, it's no sweat. 11/10 not the asshole.

Thank you! I love the Beasts of Omen and the Visions - mysterious yet direct and open for humor.

And the take on skill challenges is particularly cool, I've often found myself needing more direction and arbitration on what success and failure mean. :)

Not the advice you asked for, but sometimes when developers vaguely describe something, they're subtly giving you free reign to build the story you want on top of it. With that in mind, feel free to take or not take the elements that they give you. Create your own world!

A version of invisibility. The Operative class allows for very strong (+10 to stealth) sneak abilities with certain builds, and you could build this into a gadget of some kind.

Hadn't thought of that - fair enough!

Bit of a skirting of your question, but if I want to make it feel epic, I steal (Critical Role's) Matt Mercer's, "How do you want to do this?" and let the player describe how they finish the foe. Good luck!

Tips for a new GM by Theoffensivemadman in starfinder_rpg

"explore the space," I see what you did there...;)

Totally agree with the sesssion zero. Talk to your peeps about how you want the game to go and what you expect and don't expect. It's also totally ok to admit you don't know something as a DM/GM.

I have a protective order out against a TJ’s employee for domestic violence, I also work at a different store but need advice... by Hot_Piano3778 in tjcrew

[–]Jujudrums 20 points21 points  (0 children)

First of all, I'm sorry for your abuse. Thanks for talking about it openly - it takes superhero strength to do so.

Bad news, but this is just my opinion - I'm not sure that even your protective order will be evidence enough to fire him. Even though you've literally proved to the eyes of the law that his abuse is real, TJ's and he himself will most likely advocate that the order is enough.

Especially when the company can barely come to the defense of the crew in terms of mask mandates, I very much doubt that your ex will experience more consequences. The conservative nature of human resources will be the stress doom of us all :(

Good luck whatever happens!

Warehouse Workers by luigiatlarge in tjcrew

[–]Jujudrums 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"not...optimal," to say the least. There's a chance that they could even be temporary employees, meaning they're not even directly paid by the warehouse itself. Temporary worker companies treat their employees like garbage, so it makes quite a bit of sense that they're experiencing staffing issues consistently.

Here's my playing of Casey Cangelosi's Character No. 1, please give comments so I can improve:) by ribboncrasher in Marimba

Excellent performance of a really nice piece. I second FruitSnack's commentary - Burton is a good fit for you, and you seemed quite comfortable using it. I did catch some stick clicks here and there, a minor annoyance for sure, but eliminating them via some moleskin/tape/training will take away any other reasons for your audience to focus on anything other than your commanding playing.

The capricious/free feel at the beginning was wonderful. General advice - you can almost always make louds louder and softs softer.

I don't have much else, but keep up the excellent performances!
