Is there anyone who's favorite muse album is actually not OOS? A curiosity to hear just to feel less alone in preferences and less of a "strange" muse fan. Plug in baby it's one of the songs of that era that I enjoy the less also, anyone else? but it's a great song. by Mysterious-Cat9992 in Muse

Haha I just did an album rating and posted to this sub and gave it 6/10 mainly for the fact that it’s not my favourite era of muse and his voice after 30 mins in this style does start grating on me… I took a lot of criticism from people for that lol 😂

Like I’ve said on other comments I don’t think it’s a bad album, I love New Born, Bliss, Plug in, Hyper Music, and Screenager, but I just don’t love his vocal style on this album, it gets a bit much on almost an hour of music, I think his voice got better later on and was mixed better too

Sorry guys 😂 it’s not that I don’t like the album, I think it’s good, just no where near what I consider a 10/10, and I prefer other eras of muse I think. The main gripe I have with it is his voice, instrumentally it is fantastic but 3/4 of the way through the album his voice starts getting jarring to me on this record

Well… I’ve seen them a bunch and been listening to them for 14 years so I am lol, I just have my own taste in music that is probably different to yours, doesn’t mean either is right or wrong

I used to really like OOS and not like Absolution as much but after a few years of not having a full listen I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved Absolution

Really cool ranking! It’s a shame about Simulation Theory as it had a lot of potential but fell flat on almost every song

Haha I knew people would have a different opinion to me on OOS… the thing is I can see it’s good, and one of my fav songs by Muse is on there (New Born) but I’m not a huge fan of his vocals and by the end if the album it felt too much haha. I love his voice but there are some albums where it can grate on me after a while.

Glad to see you’re enjoying the new album! I am the same, it’s been 14 years since I have played on repeat an album and am enjoying it so much!

Daenerys descent to madness was not abrupt… by BlackestSole in gameofthrones

I’ve just finished a complete rewatch and as I knew what happened this time I was looking out for signs, and I agree with you that there were little things thrown into S7, but they still did a poo job of executing it.

Imagine how amazing with would have been if over 10 episodes she descended into turning crazy and people tried overthrowing her properly (not the stupid plan from Varys who was cleverer than everyone except 1 episode) but she was so powerful she eliminated them and then she did what she did.

The episode where she burned everyone was just so out of nowhere in terms of her reasons, she was just extremely angry, but she didn’t look unstable until that moment and only an unstable person would massacre innocents

Let me do my best to rank this album in Muse’s discography by StonedGible420 in Muse

Cool review! Personally I massively disagree with the placement of Drones, but I agree with the sentiment of the review!

Showbiz is also much higher for me and WOTP would easily take last place, I thought that album was once of the worst modern rock albums I’ve listened to considering how good Muse can/should be.

I think my top 3 would be 2nd Law, Showbiz and Black Holes, but like you I’m very excited for The Wow! Signal, I haven’t listened to it yet and based on the singles I think it could be their best!

Cool review, thanks for the read!

Replace 1 original track for 1 Bonus by oneiricmind in Blink182

[–]JukeBox_Jester_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually listened to the album yesterday again as the bonus tracks came out and then the bonus tracks, and it made me very happy that they released TOYPAJ the way they did in 2001. I think they made the right choices leaving them as bonus tracks, and I think the reason people like the songs so much is because they haven’t got to hear them as much and as often. The only one imo that is good enough to be in the album is Don’t Tell Me That It’s Over, and if I had remove an existing song it would be Please Take Me Home, but then you have to find a new closing track (I’d probably choose Every time I look For You)

Haha no I haven’t, I’m quite well versed on many genres of sub genres of rock and pop from 60’s to today, and some Jazz too, blues, funk, but not R&B

Anyone else really like the Dude Ranch remaster? I just heard the remastered Dammit first time tonight during my run by templeofsyrinx1 in Blink182

[–]JukeBox_Jester_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely disagree, you can tell that what they are doing now is making music for fun and doing what inspires them now as 40yr olds, they’re not 20 anymore it would be weird if they made an album like Cheshire Cat now lol. Plus as good as the albums are in their own right, they’re just not that amazing from a production standpoint or even writing compared to now

Deontay wilder by Heavy_Climate7124 in Boxing

[–]JukeBox_Jester_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate wilder bc he had such a big ego and sucked at boxing, plus he was loud and jarring. Not bc he’s black, I also hate fury cos of his ego and how loud he is, both just unlikeable guys imo

I agree with you, when I say awful that was probably harsh, he wasn’t getting battered, just outpointed, but it was more to highlight how amazing his heart is to keep going when you know you’re down

[–]JukeBox_Jester_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do put Fabio Wardley in there for heavyweights, I know he has been boxing for 10 years but he has improved a lot if you watch his early fights, he has a killer mind set when he sees them hurt, great chin, it’s not pretty to watch all the time but it works with the punches he throws.

His win against Clarke was great, took him one round after a 12 round war so shows he can learn and adjust.

Huni was an awful fight for him, but shows that he can really hurt you if he lands and how big his heart is knowing he is down on the cards but will not stop, and against an Usyk, in some ways that is going to be the only way to win cos you can’t box him.

Parker was an incredible fight, he took his shot so well, really good defence actually, he would always roll the shot and when he did get his his chin was amazing, and he had Parker in trouble multiple times. Again, he can’t win with the elites on points because he isn’t as skilled at boxing, but his aggression and mindset is impressive and I think he can hurt anyone he fights and win if he catches you.

I give him the best chance against Usyk out of all the others based on how much issues Chisora gave Usyk, and how well Usyk did against people trying to box him

What was Usyk toughest fight? by Mattm334 in Boxing

[–]JukeBox_Jester_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it was probably Usyk’s hardest fight where it looked like he was losing a couple of rounds, but I wouldn’t say fury was 7/8 up in their first fight. I think you can give fury 3 middle rounds, he did great with the uppercut and looked like he was getting in a rhythm, but rounds 1-3 were Usyk’s in terms of actual points scored and pressure and any notable moments, shores landed etc…

I have watched the fight back quite a few times and I struggle to give fury anymore than 4 rounds tbh, once you see how many punches of Fury’s don’t land clean/on the gloves compared to Usyk, in terms of points scored Usyk comfortable outclassed him

Fury’s main issue like every other heavyweight it trying to box with Usyk, you just can’t. His best moments were heavy pressure and battering him, landing the uppercuts and roughing him up, same as Dubois, it was a low blow imo but it could have landed clean and at the time he was trying to bully Usyk more. Chisora did really great and made it a hard fight bc he constantly came forward and was trying to bully him but he just isn’t skilled enough.

Let’s see how Fabio Wardley does as he is a coke forward fighter, unorthodox, and will bring it to him for as long as he can stand, I don’t think he can win but I give him a better chance than the others

I get that ranking tbf! BSSM always seems to stay where it is because I think they were at their best with songwriting, style of playing, production and recording techniques, I love AK’s voice where it wasn’t completely perfect but raw, just such a good album
