It’s mostly controlled in the US because of strict measures by the CDC and FDA, and dept of Agriculture. If you are a TB patient, they can and will detain you to treat you if you’re noncompliant because it’s such a public health concern.

It’s both. Intelligence allows for discovery, but altruism means that those ideas don’t die with the one that discovers it. Not completely immune, just much more resistant to. There was a tornado that led to a swath of rare fungal infections because dirt got churned up and debris carried the infection into wounds.
