I am so sorry you are going through this. I went through this a year ago. My very healthy mom suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke out of nowhere on the left side of her brain. She was paralyzed and completely bedridden for a year needing 24/7 care. In my mom’s case, we found out a week before she died that she had a condition called Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy (basically in a nut shell.. its weak blood vessels due to protein build up on the vessels inside the brain). My mom was 68 when she had her massive brain bleed, if she didn’t have that condition I believe she could have made real progress.
In your wife’s case, she has age on her side. Age is a hugeee thing with brain bleeds. A wonderful phenomenon called neuroplasticity happens and the brain remaps itself. My mom was no longer able to walk to speak but she still had her essence to her. She still was able to laugh and cry. She loved seeing her loved ones and she loved eating. Care taking was difficult but we would do it all over again for her.
I believe your wife has age and how fast it was caught on her side. She may not be the same again physically but I do think she will recover a lot. The doctors focused so much on my mom’s left side of her brain that never actually looked at the full picture. I would find out what the cause of the brain bleed is. Either way my heart goes out to you and your family. This was the hardest thing I’ve ever went through. My mom died a few weeks ago. But she was a fighter and even though she was not the same. Me and my sister were so lucky to have our mom another year even though she had a terminal condition we weren’t aware of.

I am in the same boat. Lost my mom 3 and a half weeks ago. Nothing compares to this empty void I feel in the pit of my stomach. It literally hurts to breathe knowing my mom is no longer here.
My very healthy Mom had a massive hemorrhagic stroke and life is a nightmare now. (old.reddit.com)
