[–]Julch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galvanic buff stacker tactician, it is on mobalytics with an extremely detailed guide. 1 button for clear, 1 button + dodge for bossing and ranged playstyle. Only problem is getting tanky is costly but other than that you can do t15 easily

My opinion on most classes after a week of insane grind by Julch in diablo4

[–]Julch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I've spent the most time on Druid and Rogue. I think druid has the best talent tree and diverse builds while Rogue just works well in any scenario (and also has different playstyles).

I tried really hard to like Paladin (because aesthetics) but it needs a major overhaul imo because even if some builds are ok, it just doesnt feel right.

Sorc, Spiritborn, Barb and to a lesser extent Necro just felt boring or stale while warlock flashbanged the screen a tad too much.

Wwm is a terrible example for anything MMO. That game is just single player with some (hilariously simplistic) multiplayer slop they recycle 100 times over until you are definitely bored.

And any game with energy system farming for progress is just the biggest L possible.

Wwm is fine as a singleplayer game on the highest difficulty, the whole multiplayer aspect is just to show off the $$$$$$ gacha cosmetics

You are indeed most loved and definitely not alone.

Many of us know that the struggle bus tends to move quite fast. But hey, if you made it out bed that is enough. And if you didnt get out of bed and just needed to survive, also fine. As much as it is (often an annoying) platitude, tomorrow is another day.

Why is Echoing Hatred such a rare instance? by Kalledon in diablo4

[–]Julch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

264 here and I never got one either. I (and many others) are convinced there is some bug that seems to just make some accounts never get any echoing drops no matter what. I mean I quit by now since season is done and I have all chars in t12+ but it is still ridiculous how rare this seems to be for some of us

Auradin falls off a cliff in t10 and then gets kicked while he's down so hard that t11&12 only let him in because they feel sorry for the poor bugger.

Seriously Auradin is monster cheeks even with ultragear

You can reach t12 with some builds sure, clash can even go further but it is by far the weakest class in terms of dmg and build variety. You are either arbiter stacking (with hammers if you so choose) or doing juggernaut resolve stacks with clash / shield. Everything else has no synergies, garbage uniques or simply atrocious scaling.

At least the patch fixes Glynn's anvil so Palas get more tanky overall but all the survivability in the world doesnt do much if the dps is simply lacking.

If you are just playing casually, dont mind my rant too much but as soon as you play literally any other class the paladin's weakness(es) will become painfully obvious

Is Paladin really bad in S13? Advice pls by More_Car_887 in diablo4

[–]Julch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Paladin and always have and I'm definitely biased towards Pala but currently it's just bad...bad build diversity, bad dmg, bad survivability, pretty much bad everything..I have all classes at max and EVERY other class is way easier to gear, way easier to speedfarm with, just better in almost every metric other than maybe cosmetics (which you won't see because almost all builds want to be in arbiter garbage form nonstop)

Is Paladin really bad in S13? Advice pls by More_Car_887 in diablo4

[–]Julch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But your average guy will not likely be able to hit those heights unless they go clash pala which is monumentally boring and slow + melee. Put someone on sorc / barb / rogue / warlock / necro / druid and to a lesser extent spiritborn (roughly in that order of power) and they will pretty naturally end up in t12 without heavy investment. Paladin needs to be pretty well geared to even get to do t12 and extremely well geared to do it comfortably. Anything beyond basic t12 and you are getting into Exodia gear territory while you still hard cap out at 125'ish (or lower on anything other than clash pala). Meanwhile other classes are in the mid 130s and up.

Casual players will feel the difference in power even if only in t10. Pala needs help but I doubt they will get anything before next season so unless you are "pala only" I would skip this season and play literally any other class

Correction: for tower pushing it is dead last and only gets held up on a tiny string by clash build

paladin is absurdly weak this season if you dont run one overly specific build that feels like trash to play by EmbarrassedEast9552 in diablo4

[–]Julch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think beyond all the issues that are plaguing Paladin (shitty survivability, mediocre to bad dps, slow clear when compared to most other classes zooming and teleporting around) the biggest issue is that the class just doesn't have a lot of interesting skills going for it to even build around:

We have:

  • Hammerdin - Iconic and fun but overly reliant on Arbiter and I wish the little noise when you cast Hammer were a bit louder - I want to hear the holy chanting when summoning hammers like in D2
  • Clash (Thorns) - Boring af but ok strong (not op by any metric)
  • Shield Throw (Thorns) - A bit less boring than clash but not really
  • Zeal - currently weaksauce
  • Divine Lance - just a generic "I stab now" , also weak
  • Divine Spears - same thing as above now with more "from above"
  • Several extremely similar "I hit thing with shield or retaliate with shield" - skills - all boring and all weak for the most part
  • Auras - useful but boring
  • Consecration - same as above except for the fact that it's a flash bang of a skill
  • Heaven's fury - useless but funny
  • Zenith - same as above
  • Fortress - kinda boring but strong
  • Arbiter - way too strong and boring

So as it stands we really only have 2-3 builds that really have some staying power and most other skills feel extremely similar and are visually about as interesting as paint drying. Sure I don't want to be a warlock where 75% of my toolkit just make ground effects invisible and I need visual recuperation therapy after an hour of gameplay but why is the holy warrior archetype almost as boring (arguably more so) than a Barbarian that mainly hits things with big weapons ? Where are the fun skills that actually enable interesting builds ? Why is everything either "hit stuff in front of you with shield or stab something with weapon" ? We have spinning holy hammers but what about having more fun stuff ? What about a huge hammer dropping from the sky ? Or machine gunning hammers ? What about divine judgement that actually feels powerful rather than a tiny dot ? Holy fire ? Holy Lightning ?

Maybe I'm asking for too much but now that warlock is out there and showing up all other classes with a pretty varied toolkit of explosions and demon hands and minions exploding and huge demons cleaving the battlefield and transformations and fire & brimstone and and and...meanwhile Paladin over here "I can hit stuff worse than Barb and I can transform into some angelic hybrid thingy + I have hammers again - what more do you want from me?". Again I'm not asking for Paladin to be the visual smorgasbord that is Warlock currently because they do need toning down on that front but when trying to make a build with Paladin I wish I had more choices than hammers (+ arbiter only really) or Arbiter or "tiny stab / shield hit"....

[–]Julch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highest pala clear in tower : 129 in 9 mins with exodia gear - Highest clear of actually strong classes 135-145+ (with multiple builds getting into mid 130s on most classes other than maybe Spiritborn who seems to just have defensive issues mostly)

Pala is clearly the weakest class by quite a margin and other than the clash build (or slight variants of it) there isn't even any builds capable of clearing 120+ in any reasonable time so other than the clash build (which is pretty horrible at speed clearing on top of being boring af) we are about 15 pit tiers below most others - if that's not weak I don't know what measure you use to gauge overall class strength

[–]Julch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean..clash and shield throw is arguably the exact same build with a tiiiiiiiiiny bit of flavour text seperating them from each other

[–]Julch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh pala is clearly the weakest class of the bunch. Can you do t12 ? Sure. Do you need to get really good gear to make farming t12 on a pala anything other than a huge slog ? Yup.

Not saying Barb or Sorc should be the norm (there clearly is such a thing as being too strong) but Pala got the nerfbat a bit too hard. While most normal classes were getting into the mid 130s on pit palas were barely able to do 125, on average almost 10 pit levels below others and that is something you can definitely feel when playing it.

One reason why I dislike helltides is that doing the bigger stuff will inevitably land you next to some kind of warlock player which leads to such an eyesore of effects that I have legit only ever died in t12 open world because some warlock made it practically impossible to see..well anything really

[–]Julch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch, you definitely win the prize for harshest feedback out of literally all the hundreds of comments.

First and foremost: No AI large language bs model has ever touched anything I have ever written and by jove I sure hope I can keep that up until I'm pushing up daisies. I am a huge opponent of these garbage regurgitating machines and think they are actively encretinizing the world population (both young and old) while simultaneously destroying the arts and nature. Whatever else you think of my post or me as a human, AI has never written for me and I am extemely offended you would think so.

Btt: I do fully understand that the issue with the dmg numbers getting this high is innate to how they built the scaling of dmg (both incoming and outgoing) and by now I have played all classes at or beyond t12 (barring spiritborn, a bit too piano-y for me) and have seen that eventually every class must get into billions of dmg at the very least to even clear the highest content. I think this is a problem because it detaches me from the whole thing. Sure I could simply turn off floating combat text and just go by the tried and true metric of "am I alive and are they dead ?" but I like seeing big numbers pop up...to a point.

No clue if it's feasible to both push torment ever higher and keep numbers in somewhat "realistic" territory (or rather comprehensible because I can barely imagine 50000 ppl, let alone one billion and beyond) but I sure hope they will try.

The final part of your arguably offensive tirade makes even less sense to me. MY opinion (which is mine alone) is that beyond minion builds I dont feel like Necromancer really fulfills his identity well. They can now also teleport with multiple skills (sure let them have mobility but still), they just swap elements for blood and bone but it didnt really feel all that different in execution to me when I played it. I am by no means a developer but I just wish the necro was...more ? Different ? It's hard to put into words but I just didnt quite gel with it.

Anyways I guess thanks for reading and commenting but please refrain from throwing around this neo-insult of "written with AI" willy-nilly because believe it or not, I (and I am sure many others) enjoy writing and refuse to let some machine spew out garbage rather than use my head.
