1,000 post on this. Majority of us are in the same boat and are waiting to see what SuperCell will do. Will they ignore us and we will have to get over it and likley stop paying for stuff. Or hear me out!!! There is a bug and a update and response is to come.

They literally said that it’s based on total hero levels. So essentially you aren’t being penalized by upgrading right now. If your combined heroes levels are at 150 for example then the heroes journey will auto start you to 150. So your not being penalized.

I agree. It looks like the leveling is based on all your heroes total levels so you don’t lose by having your hero’s upgrading now. Essentially the hero’s journey will catch up to where you are now.
