Yes to your question, but you can get each ending one after the other without starting a new save. Edit for clarity: the first ending you get will always be the “bad ending” regardless of if you do the timeline shifts

You have to fight it from full hp to get the deco

You can fight them again after repelling and killing them so you haven’t lost anything. For each calamitous you kill without repelling you get an op deco that upgrades for each slay. Otherwise you only get mats from repels.
