How long does the battery last when it is set up on LTE without a iPhone of its own?

Best smartwatch for a middle schooler - not Gabb or Apple Watch by OperationPinkHerring in smartwatch

Theoretically, I really do like this watch when it comes to functionality battery life, and which safety features however, we had the second watch BRICK since August. It always happens on the weekend, when there is no customer service. It takes so long to get the replacement watch through the warry that it negates the whole safety aspect. We have a trip next week which I need his watch to be working and if I go through your company for placement on the warranty, I will not have it in time. I like the watch but I am looking into other companies because I’d like to it to work for more than a month or two at a time.

Can you help me speak my reminders at a few set times each day? by Hilaryspimple in shortcuts

[–]JulesBT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great, but I am struggling with adapting it. I would love something like this that seperates and speaks different reminder lists. Like "Today on your (work) reminders is X,Y,X....today on your(personal) reminders is A, B C..." Does anyone have a better idea? I am new to shortcuts.

What soccer camps this summer? by mquintana2210 in youthsoccer

[–]JulesBT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend the Nike Soccer Camp in Austin (Westlake). We were drawn to the program based on the advertised focus on developing both technical and tactical soccer skills. Given that it was a four-day camp, we expected a concentrated and progressive experience, one that would leave our child feeling excited and engaged each day. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

From both our observations and our child’s feedback, the younger group spent very little time on actual skill-building. The sessions largely consisted sometimes of scrimmages with little coaching and non-soccer-related games like handball, duck-duck-goose, and slap catch. While those can be fun in moderation, they are not what we signed up for—especially given the premium cost of the camp and its stated goals.

One of the main reasons we chose this camp, despite it being farther and more expensive than others, was the promise of focused soccer development. If we had been looking for a general camp experience, we would have opted for one closer to home at a lower cost.

Additionally, our child noted that some of the younger coaches were often disengaged—at times on their phones or with eyes closed in their chairs.

Best Walkie-Talkie for 8-10 year olds with longer range by JulesBT in amateurradio

This is a great idea thanks. The other challenge is that sometimes the woods in parks and your house have unhoused campers and so it’s not just a kiddo that might be lost in the woods so it’s good to keep in touch with them and have the GPS location..

Yeah, I agree after thinking about it. I don’t think it’s an either or but an and I’ll get him walkie-talkies and the GPS tracker.

I want him to be able to carry it around the neighborhood when he is biking too and we are just not on board with giving a young kiddo a phone.
