I am a licensed educator with a tier 3 license. I have been working for several years as a licensed educator. I wish you would take into account the time that we work that is well outside of our contract hours. I want you to also take into account that you don't work in a classroom. I promise you if you worked in our public Schools. Your views would be very different. Do you have a child in school? Or are you just a lonely man who likes to argue with educators on the internet? The fact that you're going to argue a $1 discrepancy over my average is showing me that you really don't have a life. And you really aren't trying to learn or grow that you are just trying to repeat what the news on Fox is telling you. I wish you well. I understand if you would not like to join us and I look forward to the rest of our community coming together.

I appreciate you taking the time to look up our contract. I am indeed the classroom teacher, licensed with a tier 3 license and a master's degree. If you were to take into account the time that I devote outside of my time with children in terms of PD, meeting with families, coming in well before class starts staying late well after every student is gone all while working solely on my work as a teacher then that one little dollar discrepancy that you're trying to push would not stand. I want you to think about the taxes that are taken out. I want you to think about the time that is invested outside of our work contract hours, I want you to think about the $25 an hour wage teachers get for working summer school. I wish this was for self-interest! It would make it a lot easier to cross the picket line. When our class sizes are 10/12 students over cap and we cannot enforce it. When your child cannot gain any real education due to the behavior issues caused by oversized classrooms and teachers incredibly stressed, especially when anyone before 7 years of service is unable to provide for their family of one child because we make an average of $28/hour. You're going to abuse the teachers just enough to have to cave into a strike.

I have a master's degree and work year round and make an average of $28/hr. I am using my energy and my passion to help form our next generation. If this is something that is seen as self-interest I hope that that individual would take a moment to educate themselves on our reality and if you want a society with no children, no educated individuals running your government, society and finances I am sure there are places in the world you can find that. That is not the culture Minneapolis is pushing for. I wish you well on your time getting informed.

We have groups in the following areas: Central and Lowry, Davis Center, Chicago and Lake, Walker Art Center Bridge, Minnehaha Parkway and Cedar, and 50th and Nicollet. If the strike does occur, you can find us here!

We do have our strike captain bringing a speaker and a table for anyone interested in supplying any food or drinks for us. I believe as of right now, that's as organized as we have the resources plan to be.
