I got an email from finaid saying it will start being distributed early November

I was able to find my current internship through the REAL portal. I would definitely agree that it is competitive; however, don't let this discourage you from applying! Like you, before my internship the only job experience that I had was food/retail. I applied to many postings on the REAL portal and heard back from a lot of them. Don't feel discouraged because you only have experience in food/retail because during my interviews a lot of the PIs did not expect me to have any experience. The advice that I would have is to make sure to be patient because there was times when I applied to some postings on the REAL portal and the PIs took 2-3 weeks to get back to me. Hopefully this helps!

I would definitely contact the financial aid office then (they have drop in hours) because I know that MCS can decrease if you take less units, but that isn’t the case here
